Leslie picked me up exactly at 7 p.m. But actually she was never even a minute to late or to early. Always right on point in time.
"Heyho" she smiled and grabbed my bag. I slipped into my shoes and jacket.
My mum smiled as she bid goodbye to us. I really lived seeing her smile like that.
"Let's go" Leslie shouted a little bit too much in party mood and I followed her lying low.
Leslie had style she drove a cabriolet in matt dark grey. She always told me that her next car had to be white. The cabriolet was her second car since her first one was crashed by her older sister. I envied her to own a car. I mean yes it was freaking expensive but also really practical. One could drive wherever he or she want whenever he or she wanted to.
And I... I had only my bike nothing else. A plain old boneshaker with which I feared that it would prise apart someday.
Well but it was working until now.
Leslie's apartment wasn't that big but still a lot larger than ours. She immediately went to her bed room as we entered it.
I liked her furnishing a lot. It was simple, practical and modern. It wasn't neither too much nor too less like just the right amount of everything.
"Alice?" Her voice reached my ear from far away.
"Yes?" I answered and remembered how I met her.
She just made her bachelor degree and was celebrating with some of her friends. Unlike me she had a lot of them.
It was right before she was accepted at the company she's currently working for. She has always passed everything with flying colors. She was amazing.
Well the day she celebrated I was in a cafe she entered a little later. Back then I just started drawing so I more or less doodled very randomly to get used to it.
I was still in high school back then but in my senior year. You maybe need to know that Leslie is three years older than me.
When Leslie entered I just started my first sketch of an table with a woman looking very classy. I was completely in my own world just returning for a few seconds to drink the coffee I bought.
Leslie told me later that she'd observed me for a long time. And she really found it peaceful watching me.
When her friends had to leave because of university she approached me.
At first I was slightly confused since number one actually no one notices me so it was even more irritating that a cool girl as Leslie is one wanted my attention and number two I wasn't used to talking to strangers.
But here comes Leslie. For some unknown reason she has this talent to easily draw you into a conversation without you feeling weird or awkward. She knows exactly what to say in order to keep up the conversation and without you even realizing it, you'll tell her everything she wants you to.
Actually the perfect qualities to be a journalist.
As she had to go, she told me how nice it was talking to me and that she definitely wanted to see me again. She then gave me her number and left.
I was just blown away by this experience not knowing that this was the beginning of a wonderful friendship!
"Could you come here please" she asked me and I followed her request. Leslie was this person which owned like thousands and thousands of clothes. She had a full room for clothes since they would never fit in one wardrobe.
"Here" Leslie smiled and handed me a long dress.
It was beautiful in a light cream tone with amazing details.
