"Yoongi-ssi... where is my report?" Seokjin's voice came over the phone and Yoongi let out an audible sigh for the slightly older man. "I have people waiting for a status on this. Why are you making me ask twice for this? This is so unlike you."
"I'm sorry, Seokjin." The words left Yoongi's mouth and he instinctively regretted it.
"Wait, did the great Min Yoongi just apologize? Are you feeling okay?" Seokjin asked, the tone in his voice went from stern to playfully in the blink of an eye.
"Shut up." Yoongi muttered. "Look, I just took a little extra on my plate than usual because I thought this would be easy - but it's proven to be a little more difficult than I thought." He was being honest, just not completely.
"Would you rather I give it to someone else, because that wouldn't be a problem if you have too much on your plate, Yoongi-ssi." Seokjin started, the concern in his voice was alarming.
"N-no... it's okay. I'll manage. The other jobs are easier than this one. I'll get the report to you before the end of the day, Seokjin." Yoongi stuttered. The last thing he wanted was for Seokjin to give the job to someone else and this boy would be done for in the matter of a few days.
What the hell was he thinking?
"Okay, if you're sure, Yoongi..." Seokjin didn't sound convinced.
"I am. I'll send you the report tonight." Yoongi rushed him off the phone and hung up without saying goodbye.
He sighed and leaned his head back against the couch. It had been two day since his run in with Junggeuk at the coffee shop and Yoongi had barely left his apartment. He was focusing on his other two assignments to try and get his mind off of the handsome boy.
It wasn't working.
Junggeuk flooded his thoughts every minute of the day. It was becoming a huge problem for him and he didn't know how to handle it. The thoughts that he was having weren't normal ones. He had actually dreamed about taking the boy out on a date. He had thought about kissing his full lips and intertwining their bony fingers.
Fuck.
The thought was giving him that weird fluttering sensation in the pit of his stomach. He felt weird the last few days not seeing those bright eyes and how they looked at him. The way he spoke to him and showed interest. He had never had anyone want to get to know him. He was starting to think that this kid was definitely playing some sort of game with him and the longer he stayed away from him, the more he wanted to go to that damned coffee shop or the stupid club.
Maybe he just needed to get an assignment under his belt done so he could go back to feeling nothing. He could get that cold, unsettling feeling that he got whenever he pulled the trigger. The adrenaline rush he got when he followed through with it as he packed up his belongings and headed out coolly like he hadn't just ended someone's life.
That was exactly what he needed to do.He huffed, tossing his phone on the counter and going to his room to grab his stuff. It didn't take him long to gather his things and head out of his apartment building. Where he was going, he'd walk, it wasn't too far. He had gotten his third assignment's pattern down and he knew the exact time to be where he needed and take care of business.
He had a mask covering his face and a black beanie on top of his head as he walked with his head down. His feet carried his frame blocks before he got to the building that he had surveyed for his nest. He had a pair of black gloves on his hands and he opened the front door of the building moving mindlessly but previously calculated up the stairs to the rooftop.
Moments ticked by as he set himself up on the roof of the building. The wind would play a factor, but he knew exactly what he needed to do to adjust to that. There could be no mistakes. His mind was formulating the exact movements of the man that he was after. He was far enough away where no one would be looking in this area of the city until he was long gone.
Each movement was calculated and he controlled his breathing as he laid down and focused on the target, he set up his scope and waited for the perfect opportunity. It soon came and with one flinch of his index finger on the trigger the shot was made. He watched through the scope as the untraceable bullet hit its target.
With a nod of his head, he picked up the casing, slipped it into his pocket and packed up his gear. His heart was racing, the adrenaline was pumping through his body and he effortlessly got his belongings together and headed off of the rooftop of said building.
Once he was out of the building he mixed in with the throngs of people bustling in the streets. He turned a corner and hummed to himself as he lost himself in the city. He wasn't going to go straight home, he was going to casually walk around like any other citizen, blending in like only Min Yoongi knew how to do.
His feet carried him and to be completely honest, he wasn't even paying attention to where he was going - he was just going. His head was down and he had his hands stuffed in the front pockets of his jacket. He didn't think anything of it when he heard a voice in the distance, but then he realized that he was picking out one voice in the midst of hundreds of people on the busy streets.
His brow furrowed for a second and he almost hesitated, but he continued on. That is until someone grabbed his arm and the voice spoke again.
"Hey, hey!"
Yoongi turned around aggressively ready to fight whoever this person was, because his adrenaline was still flooding through his veins. His demeanor, however, softened when he met those chocolate brown eyes of Jeon Junggeuk. The one person he was trying to get off his mind had appeared right in front of him. What the hell was going on?
"Did you not get the message, kid?" Yoongi hissed, pulling his arm out of the boy's tight grasp. Of course, he had been doing nothing but thinking of the boy, but he didn't want him to know that. He was trying to erase him from his memory, but the boy just wouldn't stop it seemed.
"Yoongi-ssi, I believe that you're full of shit." The boy grinned brightly at him, releasing his arm and standing next to him.
"I don't have time for this." Yoongi mumbled as he started to walk away.
"W-wait..." Junggeuk called as he quickened his pace and caught up with the older male.
"Seriously?" Yoongi asked, glancing over at him, his insides doing that weird warm, fluttering sensation again.
"Why are you like this?" Junggeuk asked, pushing his hands into the front pockets of his jacket, mirroring how Yoongi was walking.
"Why are you like... this..." Yoongi asked, motioning to the boy next to him, wondering why he was even entertaining this kid right now.
"Because, I'm interested in you. You have this aura about you that I just... feel like I want to get to know you. Like I need to get to know you. I can't get you out of my head, Yoongi-ssi." The boy stated, his tone sounded almost... desperate.
"Look, you don't know me from some random person on the street. There is nothing interesting about me and trust me you would be completely disappointed." Yoongi stated as he turned to look at the kid, stopping in the middle of the walk way.
"No, you look..." Junggeuk narrowed his eyes at Yoongi and the older was a bit taken back by his straightforwardness. "I'm not usually like this. I don't know what it is about you, Yoongi-ssi, but something inside of me is telling me that I need to know you. That I need to be around you."
Yoongi stared at him for a second, "No." The word came out flatly. Every part of him wanted to say yes, but he couldn't manage to get it out. He was protecting Junggeuk from not only himself, but whatever else was out there. Whoever wanted to hurt him.
"Just, let me buy you a cup of coffee and just talk to me. Let me get to know you, or whatever you're willing to tell me about yourself." Junggeuk stated as he gave the older a pleading look. "Let me make the decision on whether or not you're worth getting to know further."
Yoongi looked at the boy and sighed. Everything in him was screaming that he needed to just keep walking, but this kid was persistent. If he continued walking, he would just follow him - he could feel it all the way to his bones. He could also feel the want and desire to sit down and just figure out more about this kid. Was that because he wanted to maybe find out more about this kid, too?
Yes.
That was the easy answer.
Yoongi closed his eyes and looked over at the kid. The more he thought about it, the more it seemed like a good idea. There was a really good chance that if the previous happening got tracked back to him, he'd have a pretty solid alibi. Not that it would, he was careful. Always careful.
Except for right now.
"Okay." The word left his lips before he could completely register everything.
The smile on Junggeuk's face spoke volumes. Yoongi thought the kids cheeks were going to explode, it was the cutest fucking thing he'd ever seen. He stopped for a second and couldn't believe that he had just said that to himself.
"The coffee shop is right around the corner..." Junggeuk stated, the smile not leaving his face.
Yoongi simple nodded his head. Maybe he would just show this kid how uninteresting he was and he would leave him alone. He wouldn't follow him around anymore and he wouldn't have to try and act like he wasn't interested.
That was the game plan.
The pep in Junggeuk's walk was obvious as he all but bounced the entire way to the coffee shop. Yoongi couldn't help but look at him from time to time. He was wondering if this was all real. If this was some sort of dream and he would wake up and none of this ever happened. Jeon Junggeuk had no interest in him and he was sitting lonely at the bar at the Black Onyx dreaming this all up.
It sounded like the more plausible option, but for whatever reason he was going to entertain this - for now.
Once they got to the coffee shop, he opened the door and let Junggeuk go in first, contemplating whether he should run or not. His curiosity got the better of him and he followed the taller boy in to the cafe.
"Your usual?" Junggeuk asked over his shoulder and Yoongi simply gave a light nod of his head.
The ridiculous grin on the boy's face only grew and Yoongi crossed his arms over his chest, waiting as the boy ordered .He could have let him pay, but instead he took out some cash from his wallet and handed it to the barista. Junggeuk looked at him with his brow arched and Yoongi took the receipt and the change and slipped it into his wallet.
"I'm pretty sure I'm the one that asked you out." Junggeuk stated as he leaned against the counter and crossed his arms, pouting slightly at the older.
"Get over it." Was all Yoongi said as the barista handed them each their drink.
Junggeuk tried to hide the smile as they walked over to the tables. Yoongi slipped his bag off of his back and put it on the floor between his legs, the only place he would think it would be safe. He glanced across the table at Junggeuk and arched a brow.
"Alright, so you have me here... which I'm telling you now is going to be a colossal waste of your time, kid."
"Firstly..." Junggeuk held up a finger and leaned in a little closer. "Stop calling me a kid. We had this discussion, I'm an adult." He pointed out.
"Oh right, a whole adult." The smile on Junggeuk's handsome face made his insides flutter and he wanted it to stop, but didn't at the same time. He hated this. And secretly he enjoyed it.
"You remembered." The boy grinned cheekily. "Secondly, I don't think its a colossal waste of time at all, its already proven to have made my day."
"You must have incredibly low standards." Yoongi quipped back.
"Your insults aren't going to hinder anything, Yoongi-ssi. I find them quite endearing. You're trying really hard to put up this wall, don't think I don't see it."
"I don't know what you're talking about, kid." The corners of his lips quirked up, but Junggeuk couldn't see it because of the mask on his face. He could, however, see the way it reached his eyes.
The younger boy reached over and tugged the mask down from his face, "I want to see your whole face." He told him, just being honest with him.
"Why would you want to look at my ugly face?" Yoongi snickered as he brought his coffee up to his lips and took a slow sip.
Junggeuk made a noise and his face scrunched up, "Your face is not ugly. You're so handsome, probably the most handsome man I've ever seen."
"Oh, you're blind, right? That makes total sense." Yoongi let out a little chuckle and put his cup down.
"Still not working, I actually find that really cute." Junggeuk decided with a nod of his head. "You're funny, your handsome and you're cute. I'm sensing nothing but a win."
"You must be delusional then." Yoongi stated as the boy sipped his coffee in front of him.
"Tell me something about yourself, Yoongi-ssi." Jungguek asked as he sat back in his seat, just taking in the older man before him.
"Like what?" Yoongi asked, not ever having had a conversation like this before. He didn't know what kinds of things to say to anyone. He was anti-social and he was that way for a reason.
"What do you do for a living? How old are you? Do you have any brothers or sisters? Where are you from originally?" The boy rambled off a few questions.
The first question struck him and he blinked for a minute, trying to figure how to answer it. He decided to answer the other questions, they were simple enough without giving too much information away.
"Twenty-four. No siblings. I was born in Daegu." Yoongi answered carefully.
"Daegu, really? My best friend, Taehyung, is from Daegu!" Junggeuk's eyes brightened up as he slapped the table excitedly. "This was meant to be. His boyfriend, my other best friend is from Busan... and so am I..." He pointed to his chest. "Originally, before my dad moved his company from Busan to Seoul when I was young." Junggeuk spilled out some information and Yoongi arched a brow. "I guess us Busan boys like Daegu boys." The younger grinned cheekily.
"You don't know me enough to like me, Junggeuk-ah..." Yoongi shook his head, trying to hide the smile that was threatening to break out on to his face.
"I know that you're twenty-four, that you were born in Daegu and you don't have any siblings. You like your coffee black with two sugars and you're hot." He tilted his head to the side and gave Yoongi a knowing smirk. "Now, I just need to know how you like your eggs in the morning."
Yoongi couldn't help but laugh at this and shook his head, using his free hand to cover his face. "Oh God... you... just stop." He laughed and waved his hand.
"See.. look at that, I got the statue Yoongi-ssi to laugh. That's an accomplishment in its own right." Junggeuk licked his lips and Yoongi watched the pink muscle swipe over the boys full lips - teasing him in every possible way.
"I'll give you that one, but it's hard to keep a straight face, you're kind of a goofy kid." Yoongi smirked, taking another sip of his hot coffee.
"Rude." Junggeuk scoffed, like he was offended and then gave the largest smile that he could muster up.
Yoongi didn't know why, but he felt comfortable. He felt like he could really see himself talking to this kid more often. It felt... nice. He wasn't even sure if that was the right word to use to describe what he was feeling. The boy talked and talked about nonsense, trying to get a laugh or reaction out of Yoongi and it worked almost 4 out of 5 times.
He was adorable. Yoongi couldn't understand how anyone could dislike this kid. He was perfect in every aspect of the word. He was good looking. He was humble. He was goofy. He was sweet. It didn't add up to him.
"Can I see you again, Yoongi-hyung?" The honorific slipped out, but Junggeuk wasn't going to apologize for it. He felt close to Yoongi already and he wanted to see him again. He wanted to continue to build whatever was there between them. He knew there was something there, even if Yoongi was trying to push him away.
"I..." Yoongi sighed and looked down at his empty cup. He had gotten too comfortable. He had let himself slip into something that he had never felt with another human being before. "I don't think that's such a great idea, Junggeuk-ah." He didn't even correct the boy about calling him hyung, he didn't want to. He liked the way it sounded when he said it.
The smile on Junggeuk's face fell, it nearly caused Yoongi's heart to stop. He looked at the younger who's smiling face formed in to a pout. It was obvious he didn't like the answer and he was persistent so it would seem he was going to put up a bit of a fight on this one.
"But, hyung...." Junggeuk started and looked down at his hands and then back up to Yoongi. "I really like you and I want to continue to get to know you."
Yoongi felt something pulling in his chest. He didn't know how to describe it, but it was unlike anything else he had ever felt before. He let out a little sigh and tilted his head to the side.
"Maybe, okay?" Yoongi offered, figuring that maybe that was a better answer than just a flat out no. Junggeuk still wasn't impressed by the answer.
"Black Onyx, Thursday night, please?" Junggeuk asked him.
"Junggeuk..." Yoongi sighed and started to shake his head.
"I'm not going to take no for an answer, hyung." The younger stated firmly.
"What are you going to do if I say no?"
"I'll stalk you, annoy the shit out of you until you say yes." Junggeuk smiled warmly at him. "Just like how I got you to come today."
"Stalk me?"
"I have many resources..." The boy nodded his head a bit. "So, please... I hate being the third wheel with my best friends and I didn't get to dance with you the night I saw you there the first time."
"Fine." Yoongi answered before thinking his answer through.
Junggeuk smiled brightly and clapped his hands together, "Perfect. Should I pick you up, or...."
"I'll meet you there."
"That doesn't make it a proper date." Junggeuk started to argue.
"Baby steps, Junggeuk-ah." Yoongie stated as he looked at his empty cup and then to the boy in front of him. Why was he letting this boy in? Why was he not doing his job? Why was he doing this to himself?
"Fine, I'll take what I can get."
"Good. I'll see you Thursday." Yoongi stated as he stood up and grabbed his bag, slipping it on to his back.
"Not unless I see you before that..." Junggeuk stated as he slowly eyed him up. Yoongi realized that he was checking him out and he felt that weird fluttering feeling in the pit of his stomach. "Have a good night, Yoongi from Daegu."
"Good night, Junggeuk from Busan." Yoongi bowed slightly as he weaved his way out of the coffee shop and back out into the fresh air of the city.
What the fuck did he just get himself into?
