CLARKE
"No We will not be rushing in without warning, there are innocent people there. Children live there, if we rush in without warning the innocent people they will caught in crossfire. People who only moved there because one of their family members doesn't agree with the coalition accepting my people. If we kill innocent lives we will only be making things worse and I will not have another Mount Weather!" I slam my fist on the table making the other leaders jump from their seats. "Too many innocent lives were lost there, we killed children who weren't old enough to know what was going on, they weren't old enough to make a choice for themselves. So we lose the element of surprise we can stand to lose that, we have an army more than twice their size and endless resources." I continue to explain trying to calm down.
"If we give them a warning what is to say they won't prepare for war and keep their children there anyways?" One if the younger leaders ask. She is the smallest of the group but she is covered in scars. She has seen battle more than once and she wouldn't be here if she had lost.
"We blockade them in, set up a site where we allow children to pass and family members who aren't involved. We search them before letting them through to make sure they don't plan to attack us from the rear. The blockade will stop them from gathering resources and numbers so we won't need the element of surprise, we force them to use most of their resources before we even attack." Lexa explains exactly the way I would which let's me know she agrees. "It's settled we will start the blockade in two weeks, leaders send word to your armies to be ready for war and inform them about the blockade." Instantly the messengers in the room take off running leaving the leaders behind to talk among each other.
"Heda will your wedding be held before the blockade?" The leader of San Kru asks ending the small talk in the room.
"We are still working out the plans but possibly, so the leaders are all to remain here until the blockade begins. Did you have somewhere else you wanted to be?" she asks deepening her voice at the end. I can tell she is suspicious of him and she is warning him not to cross her. He shakes his head and Lexa lets out a bit of a huff, "The meeting is over and you are free to do as you please. I will send a messenger if there is news about the wedding."
The leaders quickly leave the room without another word almost as if they were children being sent to their rooms. "So you don't have a date set or anything?" I ask her as she paces the back of the room passing me in my chair with every bout.
She stops her pacing and thinks for a second before opening her mouth to speak, "No we still have some more stuff to go over before setting the date." she says every word carefully as if she's making sure she doesn't give away something.
"Is there anything else making you wait to set the date?" I ask trying to get some more information from her and she shakes her head with a bit of a smile on her face. "What's the smile about?" I ask with a bit of a giggle.
"Just that we are able to have a normal conversation again I missed having you as a friend." she smiles. "I am excited for our picnic tomorrow though, I don't have many friends and it will be great to be around people my age and just be myself for once. Getting to know Roan a bit more would be helpful as well."
"I am glad we can be friends again as well, and I'm sure tomorrow will be a night to remember if we don't drink too much." I reply and it earns me a bit of a giggle from her. "It's about time for dinner would you like to eat with me?"
"I think that sounds like a great idea." she smiles and opens the door for me. I stand up out of my seat and walk out of the building waiting for her to take my side before continuing on. "How is everything? Are you healing well?"
"I've actually healed up completely, barely even a scar." I move my armor and raise my shirt so she can see the small scar on my side. She stops in her tracks and takes a closer look, she runs her finger across it and automatically goose bumps cover my entire body. She pauses for a second and then pretends not to notice them.
