it was the day of the double date, and min yoongi was not looking forward to it.

sure, jimin was a sweet guy, but he couldn't change the fact that he liked hoseok. besides, he hadn't even known him that long. yoongi just hopes that jimin isn't catching feelings.

he didn't want to be the one to break his heart.

yoongi already knew that it'd hurt even more to see hoseok with his girlfriend, being all cute and lovey dovey.

yoongi saw jimin sitting at the table already and his heart sank. he put on a smile, though and walked over to him.

"oh hi yoongi!" jimin's bright voice filled up the restaurant.

"h-hey jimin. were you waiting long?"

"nope! just got here. i texted hoseok and he said he'll arrive in like five minutes."

"oh, great." yoongi was filled with dread at the thought of hoseok's girlfriend.

"that also means five minutes to ourselves." jimin wiggled his eyebrows and yoongi let out a nervous laugh.

"oh yoongi, your face is so red! i was joking, silly."

he let out a sigh of relief which made jimin laugh harder.

"hope we didn't miss out on too much fun." hoseok stood there with his signature sunshine smile and a beautiful girl next to him.

"hi! i'm haseul! nice to meet you." she grinned and held out her hand for yoongi and jimin to shake.

they sat down across from them as a waiter approached.

they ordered their food and an awkward silence over took him and jimin.

"uh, so how are you?" yoongi made an attempt at small talk, trying not to pay attention to the couple across from him.

"yoongi, quit it with the small talk. let's actually get to know each other this time." jimin grinned at yoongi, and his face turned red.

"so when did you two meet?" haseul smiled as she turned to face them.

"about a week ago, actually."

"oh! i was expecting a lot longer." she gave them a small smile and turned to hoseok.

"how long have you known them?"

hoseok automatically thought about the letters. they started around five months ago, when he and haseul had basically just gotten together. he didn't know whether to say five months or one month ago.

"i've known jimin for about a year and yoongi for five months."

"awe! you guys must've met around the time we got together."

hoseok sneaked a glance at yoongi, and he automatically felt bad when he saw how sad he looked at the mention of his and haseul's relationship.

haseul, however, noticed the glance and finally realized something.

"hey hoseok, can i talk to you for a moment?"

fuck being subtle, she thought.

"uh sure. is everything alright?"

they got up and haseul led him to the area near the bathrooms.

"does yoongi like you?"

hoseok's face of shock automatically answered the question.

"he was the one sending the letters?" hoseok and haseul told each other everything, and the letters were no exception.

he could only nod in shock. she gave him a sad smile.

"hoseok, i think you like yoongi too. and that's okay with me, really." and even though tears were welling up in her eyes, she wasn't going to show it.

"h-haseul! no, i really don't like him that way."

"your eyes show something else." she grinned. she was glad he'd be happy.

"haseul.. how do you know all these things?" hoseok sighed as he finally gave up.

"i pay attention, something you've always needed to work on. now go get your man!" haseul laughed to herself as she hugged him and walked out of the restaurant.

hoseok stood there for a moment, barely the processing the events that just happened.

it was already too late when he turned around and yelled, "haseul!"

when all he got back was a bunch of stares, he decided to walk back to the table.

"hoseok! what happened?" jimin walked up to him as he approached.

"i think i just got broken up with."
