Demencia sighed as she lazily kicked one of her legs back and forth, listening to the rhythm of her heel thumping against the counter. Being the first awake was not as fun as she thought it would be. With Flug still passed out in what could easily be mistaken as a coma, 5.0.5. curled up sound asleep in the living room, and Black Hat doing who knows what, Dem had nothing to do.

"Ugh, boring~" she declared to the empty space as she slid off of the counter.

Suddenly, it was as if someone had flicked a switch, for her eyes lit up and she giddily clapped her hands. She'd make breakfast for the others so that when each of them woke up, Flug could eat and get back to work (which she would interrupt), 5.0.5. could get to cleaning afterwards, and Black Hat could do whatever it was that he did, most likely sitting up in his office brooding over Flug's slow work.

Now, to find the eggs...

~~

Flug grunted as he rolled onto his back, blankly staring up at the ceiling. He reached up and slowly ran his fingers through his tangled hair, brushing his short bangs away from his forehead. He was suddenly started by the sound of glass breaking and- wait, was that the fire alarm?
The man shot up from his bed and half-hazardously slipped his bag and goggles on before rushing out of his room. He raced down the long hallway, not stopping to greet 5.0.5. who was standing to the side of the hall, a concerned look on his face. Flug simply gave a quick 'follow me' gesture and the bear followed as fast as his legs could take him.

Oh god oh god oh god oh god oh god- Flug pulled one of the large dining room doors open and ran through to the large room. He burst into the kitchen and was met with a face full of smoke. It made his eyes water and caused him to double over in a coughing fit. Over the loud alarm, he could hear 5.0.5.'s terrified whimpers and Demencia's screaming. Flug dropped to the ground and moved over the smoke, holding his hand over his mouth under his bag. By some luck, he managed to reach the sink, where he shot back up to his feet and reached up, slamming the window open.

Smoke billowed out the open window, leaving behind three coughing figures as it left; Demencia was on her hands and knees, hacking and coughing, 5.0.5. was turned away from the kitchen, his shoulders shaking as he coughed into a paw, and Flug stayed standing by the window, his bag pushed up over his mouth and nose as he deeply breathed in the fresh air.

"Holy shit," Flug sighed, pulling his bag down and leaning against the counter. "What did you do, Dem?"

"Eggs," the girl choked out, pointing to the stove.

Flug looked over and sure enough, there was a pan sitting on the stove, several (what Flug could only assume were) eggs burnt completely black molded to the pan. He was almost speechless when he noticed that around the burner was black and burnt. How the hell do you burn a burner?

"Oh my god," Flug groaned, reaching under his bag to rub at his eyes. "This has been a great morning. We all might as well give each other pats on the back, then curl up and pray that our boss doesn't maul us too horribly for ruining the kitchen."

Demencia rolled her eyes, grinning. "Blackie won't kill us; he needs us."

"All three of us are easily replaceable. I'm sure there are a ton of other fangirls out there, plenty of people willing to keep the mansion in good condition, and a good handful of scientists ready to work for one of the most powerful beings in the universe."

Demencia giggled at the sarcasm that laced itself into Flug's voice towards the end. She hopped back up to her feet, now full of renewed energy. "Well, I'm going to get to work!"

"Work? What work? You don't work."

"That's what you think."

"Well-- What am I going to tell Black Hat!?"
