"Psst! Kah!"
The elder prince groaned and rolled over, turning away from his younger brother.
"Kaaaah! Wake up!" Ahkmenrah whined as he continued to tug at the blankets Kahmunrah had pulled over his head.
"Ahk... It's the middle of the night..." The elder brother mumble groggily as the blankets were tugged away.
"What do you want?" He muttered as he moved to prop himself up on his elbow, rubbing the sleep clinging to his eyes before offering his brother an irritated, albeit, groggy glare.
Ahkmenrah merely grinned as he took hold of his brother's wrist, bouncing on the balls of his feet giddily as he tugged on his brother's arm.
"The fields are on fire Kah!"
The you prince released his hold on his brother's wrist before skipping to the door, his eyes bright and alive with excitement.
"C'mon Kah! Come see! Come see!"
Kahmunrah heaved a sigh before swinging his legs over the side of the bed, rousing a childish round of applause from Ahkmenrah before the younger prince took off down the halls.
Kahmunrah sighed before moving to follow after his younger brother. The torches were dimmed for the night, only allowing the minimum amount of moonlight to seep through the windows lining the halls and even then, Kahmunrah kept one hand trailing against the wall.
"You're too slow!" Ahkmenrah whined once Kahmunrah, (Finally) Made it to the base of the steps leading to the palace grounds, the older brother merely shook his head as he turned away.
"I'm here now, aren't I?" He mused lightly, bidding his brother to follow, Ahkmenrah merely huffed as he skipped after his brother.
"Do you think we'll be able to catch any lighting tonight?" Ahkmenrah queried lightly as he moved to grab his brother's hand, Kahmunrah hummed in thought before nodding.
"I'm sure we will."

True to Ahkmenrah's word, the fields were on fire.
Fireflies danced between the rows of bailey and wheat, flickering like ember sparks, there one moment gone the next.
Ahkmenrah darted into the field of crops, giggling childishly as he followed after the fireflies, gently attempting to cup the insects in the palm of his hands.
Kahmunrah watched his brother for a short while before moving into the field to join him.
"I got one! I got one!" Ahkmenrah cheered through a low whisper, the younger prince turned to his brother, smiling as brightly as the sun. The gaps between his fingers flickered to life in startled volleys as the small firefly contained within his palms fluttered about in the small confide.
Kahmunrah grinned as he crouched low to the ground, gently taking hold of his brother's wrists, peering through the cracks of the firefly's prison to watch.
"Good job Ahkmenrah."
The younger prince smiled before looking to his palm.
"I have lightning in my palms." He snickered to himself, Kahmunrah nodded.
"Indeed, you do..."
Ahkmenrah smiled at his brother before slowly opening his hands.
The small firefly sat in his palm for a moment before flickering lightly and taking off, rejoining the other sparks in their twirling dace.
A small hand fell into Kahmunrah's own as Ahkmenrah took hold.
"Can we stay here for a bit?" He asked quietly.
Kahmunrah gently squeezed his younger brother's hand.
"If you want..."
Ahkmenrah nodded.
"I do..."
(Kahmunrah eventually carried a half-asleep Ahkmenrah back into the palace, vowing to never again allow Ahkmenrah to goad him into firefly hunting in the middle f the night.)
(They went out again the very next night.)
