Lindsey's POV:
"Are you insane, that's gorgeous!" My best friend, Haylee attempted to persuade me. We were shopping, an I was currently holding a white tank top with a gold half shirt that goes over it.
"Are you sure?" I asked turning side to side in front of the three-sided, body length mirror, "I mean is it too flashy? You know what I'm just not going to get it, this is ridiculous!" I said throwing the shirt back on the rack. The only reason I'm shopping in the first place is actually pretty simple.... Haylee dragged me for 'souvenir shopping'.
"Fine, then buy this," she said holding out a shirt that had the British flag covering it, with the saying 'British me up' across it. I smiled and took to try it on, it didn't fit!
"It don't fit, I told my friend, waiting on the other side of the door, "see if they have it in a bigger size." Complying, she went to raid the racks and came back with two twins of shirts. She handed me both of the shirts, the first one I tried on fit, so I didn't bother trying on the second one. I walked out of the dressing room, collected Haylee, and we made our way up to the register. We bought our items and was making our way towards the door when,
"I have to to have those!" Haylee screeched and ran towards these beautiful, black, leather flats. There was a buckle on each show right across the toes and had a rough looking texture made of a giraffe pattern. She picked up a pair of the shoes and literally hugged the shoes. "So pretty, so smooth, so," she looked at the price tag and her eyes went wide, "expensive! I told you they weren't worth the walk over here."
"Whatever lets leave, I'm staving." I said grabbing her by her wrists and dragging her towards the exit. When I opened the door and took a step out I bumped into this guy. He looked angered by something, just then his friend came from around the corner. Figures, a friend.
"Hey watch it!" I screamed. The boy looked up and his features softened as soon as our eyes made contact. Not him, anybody but him. "It's you."
"It is me," he said confused, please tell me he remembers me. I remember the first time I met this boy, I had been face down in the mud. He helped me up, and we got close; text, Skype, and sometimes call each other; but then he started to get distant, then he would only call three times a week, two times, once, until he eventually stopped and we lost all contact to each other. Now, here he is standing right in front of my face. While I was lost in memory lane, he had gotten off the ground so the people waiting to enter the shop stood impatiently in front of me, scowling down at me.
"Right," I said getting up, allowing the older couple to walk inside mumbling 'delinquents' under their breath. "So, how have you been?" I asked the mesmerizing boy. He stood there with his eye brows knitted together.
"I'm sorry, but who are you?" My heart broke at his words, he didn't remember.
"Josh it's me, Lindsey. Remember? We went to summer camp together." I recalled a memory he would surely remember, me and him never forgot the day I flipped the Kano over during the lake race. We were going down the river so fast and I lost control of the boat and it tipped over. He is standing there looking at me like I lost my mind. I thought, surely that would work. Why don't he remember?
" I don't know who you are trying to look for, but my names not Josh," the boy spoke. Did he just say his names not Josh?
"Then who are you, because you look a lot like my friend, Josh."
"The names Jordan," he said, "Jordan Hill," Jordan continued as he stuck his hand out for me to shake. As we are shaking hands, he points behind him and adds, "and this my friend Mark Wills." I replace Jordan's hand with his friends, before pulling away from him as well. I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned, my face meeting the once forgotten Haylee.
"Oh, and this is my friend Haylee Mason." The two strangers, yet awfully familiar figures, shook her hand also. "Well this had been a fun get together, and I'm sorry for thinking you were somebody else, it's just, you guys look to similar."
He laughed and said, "Don't worry about it, but your right we might as well get going. Right Mark?" Jordan asked turning to his friend, patiently waiting for an answer.
"Uh yeah," Mark agreed, "later." He said directed at us, and walked off.
"See ya later." Jordan said before joining his friend.
"Bye guys." Haylee and I both waved as they walked back and continued on our way. I could have sworn that was Josh.
Mark's POV:
Jordan and I are walking down the streets of Cheshire, and Jordan looks like he is in some deep thought. Well, he's not alone, I can't believe I seen her again. I knew she remembers me too, because I felt that connect when he beautiful blue eyes, meet my over-used brown ones. She played it off like we didn't know each other which I followed along.
We used to date a long time ago. I meet her in a small store in New York City. I was on a theater trip to go see live Broadway shows and I bumped into her. I thought I was never going to see her again, but I remember wanting to get to know as much about her as I could.
*flash back to Marks sophomore theater trip to New York City*
"Hey come on Mark, the bus is going to leave in seven minutes!"
"Yeah, I'll be there in just a minute Josh, just let me check out." I shoved my way through the crowded store to the cash register, when I turned the corner I smacked a girl in the head with my own face. "I am so sorry," I started, "I didn't see you there, then I hit you with my face, which sounds really stupid? Who hits somebody with their face?!" She then squished my lips together to keep me from speaking any further words. She looked up and I meet the most mesmerizing, icy blue eyes, I had ever seen.
"You talk a lot!" She exclaimed.
"Sorry. My names Mark, Mark Wills." I said extending my hand. She looked at me questionably, before molding hers with mine.
"Lindsey, Lindsey Howl. Do you live here in New York?"
"Nah, I'm here on a school trip. I'm just buying souvenirs for my family."
"That's nice," she smiled, which I returned.
"Do you?"
"Live here? Oh no, I live over in England, I'm just here on vacation with my dad."
"Sounds pretty cool, look I really have to check out my bus is leaving in like four minutes." I said rushing my words.
"Oh! Here take this," she said handing me a piece of paper, "talk to you later Mason." Lindsey said walking away.
"It's Mark!" I yelled in her direction. I heard a faint 'I'm sorry' before checking out and barely making the bus with one minute left to spare.
*End of flashback*
When I got on the bus the day, I opened the note and found her number, and called her every night. We dated for a while after that, then school got in the way and the distance was becoming to much for me to bare. I would cry every night until I eventually went to sleep. I craved her voice, and I cherished every Skype call we had because I could physically see her. Life was keeping us apart and so we slowly faded to nothing. I just wish I could have a redo on our relationship, because this time I would vow to never split us, no matter what obstacle was thrown at us. I can't help but wonder if she would like to meet up sometime. I have to dig up her number!
