Our parents walk us to the train where we have to run through a wall to get there. It was all pretty terrifying but the pure excitement on my moms face made me happy. She always makes me happy. I wave good bye to her as the train moves fast away from her smiling face, and the happy tear falling from her eye. My excitement almost overshadowed my nerves until James started talking about potions class and professor snape.
"Who's professor Snape?" I ask nervously.
"Only the scariest man you'll ever meet!" James says getting extremely close to my face.
"James! Stop it, you're scaring him." Jordan says worriedly.
"I not scared!" I say. They all look confused at me and I realized I left off a few letters in that sentence.
"I-I mean I'm not scared." I say, looking down, embarrassed. They all look at each other for a second but Jordan pats my back.
"Hey, Aleks. We're almost here. My parents told me its beautiful." Jordan says, grinning at the window. Eddie giggles and flicks Seamus. Seamus shoves his hand away and pushes his glasses up. James and Dan start talking about a game and me and Jordan excitedly look out the window, desperately trying to see the school.
"Yo quiero te madre!" Eddie says in Spanish, giggling at how no one could understand him. I smile at Jordan and he laughs at Eddie's high pitched giggle. Jordan's eyes are the prettiest shade of blue. I chuckle at my thoughts, I wonder if anyone else thinks my eyes are pretty.
The train stops and Jordan excitedly stands up.
"Aleks! Dan! James! Seamus! Eddie! We're here!"
"Did you really have to say all of our names?" James asks.
"Of course I did JAMES!" Jordan says, getting out the door and dragging all of us along with him. A really tall dude with longer hair than Seamus greets all of us. He introduces himself as hagrid and leads us to a boat thing. Me and Jordan are last so we get our own boat.
"You're really cool Aleks." Jordan says, looking out on the lake and at the goat beautiful school in front of us.
"I'm really not. I'm just a kid from Russia who sometimes can't even speak English well."
"Well, I like you Aleks. You have really pretty hair, and when your eyes catch the right light they look like chocolate." Jordan says grinning at me. I blush and smile. When we arrive we get a tour from a really tall lady who I didn't quite catch the name of because I was busy thinking about Jordan. He's really cool. And he looks really warm and soft, like a teddy bear. The woman walks off for a second and we hear two people fighting. The crowd parts and I see a pale blond boy and a brunette boy with glasses arguing. A ginger boy and a girl with poofy hair stands near the glasses boy. I hear James gasp.
"No it can't be. That's harry potter." Jordan, who's next to me, nods. The lady comes back and we walk into the hall dining thing. Everything here is so grand, I'm not used to it. I'm used to fake wooden plastic tables and grumpy lunch woman who feed you slop. We gather in a crowd in front of a hat. A sorting hat. Jordan clutches my hand and I feel electricity go through me.
"I hope we get the same house." Jordan whispers in my ear. People get sorted rather quickly. Jordan goes up and gets gryffndor. I nervously wait in the crowd for my name to be called. It fizzles down until there's only three. Then two. And then me. My names at the end of the alphabet. Half of the people in the hall look at me curiously, but the other half dot really care. Why should they? No one wants me in their house. I want to cry, I'm so nervous. The lady calls my name and I sit on the stool. Some people watch intently and the others talk to their new friends.
"Please be gryffndor." I mumble. The sorting hat guffaws.
"Gryffndor? Why?"
"Jordan. I need Jordan. Gryffndor please!" I mumble again.
"You think I'm going to give you what oh want purely on a little crush." The hat whispers.
"Yes." I say. The hat chuckles quietly and yells out 'GRYFFNOR!" I take the hat off and excitedly sit next to Jordan at the gryffndor table. We all got gryffndor. Thank god.
After eating we go to our houses and are showed our rooms. Jordan, Eddie, Seamus and I all share a room and James and Dan are sharing with some other first years.
Eddie and Seamus get unpacked quickly and fall asleep. I toss and turn roughly though, and hear Jordan doing the same. As much as I love it here, I miss my mother. I feel a tear go down my cheek and turn on my side with a soft shriek from the bed. I hear Jordan get up and come over to me.
"Can't sleep?" He whispers softly.
"No."
"Neither can I, can I get in bed with you." He asks shyly. I nod and scoot over. He crawls under the blanket. He kisses my cheek softly and we both fall asleep. He's the best friend ever.
I tried to make it all innocent, but then I made Eddie say I want your mother in Spanish so... Did that ruin it? Haha not sorry. Aleks and Jordan obviously don't know they like each other, but there was some fluffy stuff in here right? VOTE AND FOLLOW AND PUT THIA INTO YOUR LIBRARY THING BECAUSE I LOVE ALL WHO READS THIS!
