Dexter Veges
I woke up five minutes late. Vanessa was already changed and looked as pretty as ever. I looked at her with envy.
"Why can't we be pretty like that?" I asked my wolf, Ester.
"You are, just in your own way." Ester said.
"Whatever you say, Ester." I said, cutting off our connection.
I walked into the bathroom, brushed my teeth, washed my face, and cleaned up. I walked back into my room. Well technically I share with Vanessa, it's just a huge room. I pulled out a random V-neck and some skinny jeans and pulled on my sweater and shoes. I walked out of our room and walked to the living room to eat a bowl of cereal. I grabbed Lucky Charms and started eating. Vanessa walked in.
"Dexter, do you know how many calories are in that!?" Vanessa shrieked.
"Um, no." I simply said.
"Like One Thousand!" She exaggerated. I looked at the box.
"It says 'Calories: 142'." I said, proving her wrong.
"What about fat? Huh?"
"It says, ‘Total Fat: 1 gram. Saturated Fat: 0 grams. Trans Fat: 0 grams."
"Serving Size?"
"Uh, 35 grams." I said slowly.
"See! See! I bet your eating more than 35 grams!" she yelled, pointing at me. I just nodded, not really caring, my werewolf metabolism would just burn it all off. Vanessa just grabbed an apple and left. Vanessa already had a car. I have my license, but I just like walking better. I sighed and walked out of the house, grabbing my backpack.
Once I got to school, I put my things in my locker and went to sit at a table. Leann, Margo, and Sam were all sitting at the same table. They're also werewolves.
"Nice Toe-biceps." Sam said. My face broke out into a smile.
"I'm totally from Fab-negation!" I said, posing a ridiculous pose.
"Four plus Six!" Leann shouted back.
"She's dead!" I shouted back.
"Skin!" Margo yelled.
"Skin!" We all yelled back.
"I do Augustus, I do." Sam said, pretending to die.
"Okay? Okay."
"Lemon grass and sage!"
"Quiet down!" said a teacher that was standing nearby.
We all looked at each other and laughed. This happened every morning, we would shout all of our inside jokes, until a teacher told us to shut up. We all went to first period, one of the few we had together. We joked and had fun. Then the bell rang again for second period.

I walked out of school and saw Vanessa talking with higher ranked werewolves. She called me over. I tried to pretend to not hear her, but what excuse did I have?
'OH I didn't hear you.'
'But you have werewolf hearing.'
I walked over to her with a sigh. She was talking to some new guy.
"Xavier, this is my little sister, Dexter." she said.
"Isn't Dexter a guy name?" Xavier asked.
"Yes, problem?" I asked.
"It's cool." he just said. I nodded and started walking away.
"Wait!" I heard someone yell. I didn't turn around, who would call for me? I felt someone touch my shoulder, instinctively I grabbed the arm and twisted it.
"Ow! Ow! Let go!" yelled Xavier. I let go and kept walking. He was about to touch my shoulder again but decided against it.
"Can I walk with you?" He asked, surprising me.
"Why don't you ride with Vanessa?" I asked.
"Why would I do that?" he said.
"This idiot." I said to Ester. Ester whined.
"Whoa, what was that?" I asked Ester. She never whined.
"Maybe Be...... You know what, never mind." I stopped protesting and just walked.
We walked, but Xavier never turned some different corner or street.
"Xavier, where do you live?" I asked him.
"I'm not supposed to tell strangers where I live." he said in a five year old voice.
"Well, you can trust me." I whispered like it was a secret.
"Could you please stop, you're making me uncomfortable." Xavier said again in a five year old voice.
"If you don't tell me, I'll kill your dog." I said, pretending to be scary.
"What if I don't have a dog?" Xavier asked.
"I'll just have to kill you." I sighed.
"I actually live right there." Xavier pointed to a blue house right next to mine. I stopped walking.
"You’re kidding right?" I said.
"Why would I lie about something like that?" Huh, made sense.
"Maybe because I live right next to you." I said, pointing to the red house next to his.
"Well looks like I'll be seeing more of you." He said.
"I can't wait." I said sarcastically.
"Neither can I!" he said back.
I walked into my house.
"HOW COME NO ONE TOLD ME THAT WE GOT NEW NEIGHBORS!?" I yelled.
"I didn't think that you would care." said mom.
"A warning would be nice next time." I said. I walked up to my room and got my computer. I Skyped Leann, Sam, and Margo.
"Do you guys know a kid named Xavier?" I asked.
"Yeah, he's in my math class." Margo said.
"He's adopted. His birth parents weren't ready for a kid so they put him up for adoption. Helen and Donald Quip adopted him. They have a girl named Cheri, she's in our grade. The Quip's moved here from Oregon. Apparently his real parents are Alpha's." Leann said. Lee has this cool power where she can read peoples backgrounds.
"Good, this is good information." I said
"Why do you even want to know?" Sam asked.
"Guess who just moved in next to me?" I said.
"OH." they all said.
"Yeah, well I got to go." I said. We all said goodbye and left.
"So how did it go with Xavier?" Vanessa teased.
"Well I think I scared him both mentally and physically." I said.
"Oh." Vanessa looked sad. I mentally laughed, her mission had failed.
"That's okay because I already arranged a date with Xavier."
"That's good for you." I said not caring.
"But I'm not going, you are." I jumped out of my bed.
"What the fuck is wrong with you!?" I yelled. Mom burst into the room.
"Settle down." she said and walked out. Vanessa walked out right after her.
