"Hafsa can you help me do my homework?" I yell to her from downstairs. She storms into the room groaning.
"I was making a YouTube video, I had to pause it man. I had perfect lighting aswell," she rolls her eyes. Maybe I'm too slow, I use up so much of her time.
She notices the upset look on my face and tries to makeup for what she said, "but it's not that important, besides, my favourite sister needs me," she hugs me.
"I'm your only sister, did you forget?" I say through a laugh.
After an hour of frustration, Hafsa storms out of the room, leaving me to work on my own.
I've still never sent a text message in my life. I've never had the guts to. I talk out my phone, pressing my finger to the home screen to unlock it.
The last person to call was Hafsa, so I click on the phone button. A lot of weird words come up, half I don't think are in English.
Like who is
Vatelino?
Or hosfo? Wait Hofsa, Hafsa! Right. I click on her name and it says Hosfa claling. Shit. Shit.shit.I turn off the phone throwing it to the other side of the room. I'm useless.
Hafsa comes running into the room, charging at me with her arms open.
"Omg I'm so proud of you, you called someone for the first time, I happened to be the lucky one," she says through squeezing me as if she's trying to get juice outta me.
I breath in her scent, I recognise it. I smell again.
Black Opium."I'm just going to pretend like you didn't use my favourite perfume," I say through a genuine smile.
"Sorry," she says as her face blushes a crimson red.
"We gotta celebrate!" She shouts like a madwoman, her excited face resembling a mad professor.
"Stop it Hafsa. It's nothing. I just want to be treated like a normal person, please don't make a big deal out of it." She nods softly.
"About this homework, ay?" She wiggles her eyebrows.
I'm finally finished, thanks to a boost of motivation from Hafsa.
"Done. Your spelling has a improved a lot. Just gotta work on your handwriting coz Gosh, they invented lined paper for a reason!""Thank you, Hyper bunny,"
"It's okay Cole Sprouse," she says back.
"Urgh, I don't have a crush on Cole Sprouse!" I defend myself."Yeah, Don't like him, my ass. You said that through a smile!" I notice my lips curving into a smile every time she says his name. Ugh, thank you lips. You're a real help with keeping in my feelings!
Valentino hadn't been in school the whole day. And he never took a day off, even if he had the plague, so this was worrying.
I stand at the door of his house. Black ivy creeping up it's way up the house. The red door greeting me as the door knocker smiles at me. My palms were drenched in sweat and I suddenly felt so nervous.
Laughter can be heard and the sound of Valentino chasing his sister's with a water-gun escapes the house, making me smile like a Cheshire Cat.
After I knock, I am greeted with a man blonde hair, blue eyes. His hair greying from the sides, but he jumps out his skin as if I'm the grim reaper.
"W-w-w what do you want?" He stutters.
"Is Valentino in?" I ask, peering behind the man.
His house is decorated in purple and blue Arabic inspired times and an Arabic bright lamp, hanging with no source of light shining. His house was beautiful but so different to the way I imagined."Y-yes-yes. Come in." He leads me into a lounge, with sofas creating a U shape around the tv, a photo of Valentino cradling his sister while his mum cradles two, sits on top of the tv. Triplets!
"What are you doing here?" Valentino startles me.
"Look Val, You're still my boyfriend. I can help you," but the disappointed look on his face doesn't change. His eyes turn to the ground, as he mumbles."Maybe we should just break up then,". He can't mean it. It's just out of anger.
"Really," my voice cracks, and the pain in my heart is reflected to the tears running down my right cheek. He runs into me clutching my body, his arms wrapped around me.
"No. I'm sorry. I'm just so stressed, I can't leave you. Your one of the best things that happened to me," he says through tears of his own.
Before I knew it, his lips crashed onto mine. The kiss is short, but it releases a swarm of butterflies going out of control in my stomach. When we both open our eyes, we just stare at each other.
"That was actually my first kiss..." he breaks eye contact as if he was ashamed, "mine too," which causes him to smile.
"You liar. How you're so gorgeous?" He says to me, causing me to smile like an idiot.
"Uh. I could say the same thing. Plus. I'm really ugly,".
When I get home, hafsa could immediately read on my face that something happened between us. She'd been begging me for ages, to spill, but I stayed mum.
Was my facial expressions that easy to read?
"Nope. I don't kiss and tell," her mouth curves into a perfect smile and I realise what I just said.
"January kissed Val, Jan kissed Val. Jan and Val sitting in-,"'she stops as I throw a Cushion that directly hits her face.
"Ow meany! Cole Sprouse," she pouts.
I go upstairs when I hear a ping from my phone.
Fuck. I need Hafsa to read it. What if it's private though. Like about the kiss. I want to read it, but I know when I will, it won't make sense.
Ugh. I'll just ignore it. But then someone calls. I swipe to answer the way Hafsa taught me.
"Hello?" I ask.
"Why didn't you reply to my messages?"
"Duh. I'm dyslexic. You're such a genius aren't you," I say sarcastically.
