Dante's POV

The rain slaps the car's roof as I make my way down the main road. Garroth is in the passenger side, I look over to see his head leaning against the window.

"You excited?" I asked as I focused back on the road smiling.

No answer.

I looked back over at the blonde male and his eyes looked at me but his body didn't move.

"Yea..." He spoke with emptiness in his voice.

"What's wrong? You wanted to see him, right?" I'm now looking at Garroth, my eyes shifting to the road every couple seconds.

"I do, I'm just ups–" He sighs and seems slightly angry. "I'm fine, Dante."

"Alright." I'm not one to really question others about their feelings. Especially since Garroth is in this mood right now, he just needs to be left alone I suppose.

We pull into the hospital parking lot and as soon as I park the car Garroth gets out of the car. I look over and see him staring at the hospital, his eyes lean towards the entrance and he looks at me. I sigh and get out of the car, he sees my slight struggle of having to care and he turns away from me and walks towards the entrance.

When we get inside the hospital there's the metal detector first.

Garroth's POV

No. No. No.

The metal detector beeps as I stand on the other side of it. I sigh shakily as I empty my pockets to the officer, showing my phone. I walk through again, I pull out my earphones. I walk through a third time, I pull out my knife. The police officer and I don't make contact. He puts the knife aside and hands me back my other items and scans Dante next then lets us go as he says I can pick up my pocket knife when I leave.

Dante and I walk to the front desk as he mumbles angrily at me. Stuff like, "Why do you have a knife?", "Are you insane?", "Why did you bring it to a hospital?" I don't answer and he grabs my shoulders and stares at me, I'm forced to look up at him and we stare at each other for a few seconds then he scoffs and lets go, pulling my wrist to the front desk, I wince slightly.

"We're here for Laurance Zvahl." Dante speaks in a strong tone to the nurse, trying to calm down. For a blue head he sure acts like a red head. I smile slightly at my inside joke. The thing about my inside jokes are that I'm the only one that knows the joke.

The nurse looks up at Dante from her chair and then at me, my smile hides, she nods and smiles.

"Are either of you family of his?" She asks, her voice preciously sweet and gentle.

"Close friends." Dante suggests to her as she nods and allows us through the doors, bringing us to room 213. Out of the room comes a different nurse with a tag saying, "Allison," on it in red lettering.

"Mr. Zvahl is having a hard time right now, are you both his fam...ily...?" She seems to stop mid word as she notices Dante and my outward appearance being very different than Laurance's. I push through the nurses, getting out of Dante's grip as well, as I head into the room, I start breathing heavily out of anxiety welling up inside of me and I see my best friend strapped to an IV, laying in a hospital bed, with his dead, cold, baby blue, eyes staring at the wall as he is turned on his side. Before anyone could get me I rush to his side and rest my hand on his shoulder, staring at his face.

"Garroth!" Dante yells in frustration at me as he storms into the room. As if that was a trigger word, Laurance spun his head around and his eyes widened as he gasped for air that his lungs already had; he reached out and grabbed me, pulling me in tight against him.

"Garroth!" He cried as he held me tight, I wrapped my arms around him and tears flowed as I continued to embrace him. "I-I'm sorry I'm such a jerk, I should've replied to your texts b-but I was struggling, I didn't know what to say! I didn't want you to worry!" Laurance continues to bellow out as he sobs into my chest.

"Shh..I'm here..it's alright, Laur. You're going through a lot and I don't know much about it but I'll be here to support you and help you through it..." I told him softly, I ran my fingers through his hair to relax him, whispering sweet nothings into his ear till he stops crying as Dante and the two nurses stand at the door in awe.
