Sonic sped along the grass and skidded to a stop, ready to pounce on the magnificent robot in front of him. Eggman. He was trying to take over Sonic and his friends land to build an empire. Suddenly, the robot lifted it's hand and swiped the blue blur off guard, crushing him in to the wall. With a cry, Sonic went crashing in to the ground like a meteor. 'How much more embarrassing can it get to see their heroes fail?' Sonic thought, as he tried to get up. Instead, he fell and closed his eyes. His body was too sore and weak to even begin imagining what was coming next.

Meanwhile, Shadow stood at the window of the large robot, watching Sonic helplessly get beaten. 'Such a pathetic excuse of a hero.' Shadow thought as he crossed his arms over. Shadow noticed that the doctor didn't crush the blue creature the second time when he had the full opportunity to do so. Was the doctor really contemplating on sparing Sonic's life?
"Doctor, why aren't you killing him?" Shadow asked, looking in the reflection of the window, seeing Eggman's head shake.
"That's where you come in Shadow. I want you to go down there and capture that hedgehog and bring him to space colony ARK. He can't escape there. Here, bring a chaos emerald and don't come back until you have completed what I have asked." Eggman explained, throwing the green emerald at Shadow. The emerald glistened and legend had it that you could use it's power from what you really wanted inside. Shadow nodded and chaos controlled down to the planet he once dearly loved. Now, he despised it just like his creator did, Gerald Robotnik after they both seen Maria die.
Despite being with Eggman, Shadow never fully got the chance to go see the planet and quite frankly, he didn't want to. Not after what happened to her. Shadow arrived at the location where the beaten up hedgehog was but the only thing left was a dent on the ground where he lay.

"Don't worry Sonic. Amy is waiting for you at your house to patch up them wounds." Tail's encouraged as Sonic lay in the back of the X-Tornado, badly beaten. Although he never really felt it when he was hurt, it was pretty painful this time round.
"Th-thanks Tails but really, I'm fine. You know me, tough as nails." Sonic smiles briefly, holding on to his stomach as it grumbled. 'You are hungry now? Really? I ate like 1 hour ago.' Sonic thought as he felt the bump of the X-Tornado landing. Tails flicked off the engine and got out, helping the blue hero out of the plane. Knuckles came rushing over and lent Sonic a hand into Sonic's small cottage. He didn't need a big house as he didn't have people over very often.
"Really guys, I don't need all this fuss, I'm sure I've had worse." Sonic tried to laugh off the pain as he sat down on the chair, wincing softly.
"No Sonic, we have never seen you look this bad before. Have a look." Knuckles stood up and brought the mirror over. Sonic's gloves were all torn and frayed. His peach stomach showed black and blue bruising and his eye was weeping blood at the side. His quills were all rough and terrifying like he had dressed up for Halloween. Sonic screamed and shut his other eye.
"I look hideous." He whispered, licking his tongue across his teeth and gasped again, feeling one of his canine teeth was gone.
"Shh, don't worry Sonic. I'll help you get better." Amy smiled as she came over with a damp, fluffy cloth and some ointment. Sonic smiled hesitantly as she sat down beside him. Even if Amy was a stalker and annoying, she had a big heart. Especially for the people she loved. Amy began by dabbing the cloth over Sonic's ruffled up, once soft fur. After he looked reasonably clean, she began her treatment. 'Was I becoming weak and old? What happened out there? Usually I could beat Eggman with my hands tied around my back.' Sonic thought as he sighed and closed his eyes.
