The Abandoned Wolf

2. Saved

The morning sun peeked through the leaves of the trees in a forest. Bird chirped as they happily greeted each other and little animals were playing with one another. Kyungsoo opened an eye and saw 2 squirrels playing in front of him. One of them placed an acorn in front of his muzzle, as if asking him if he would like an acorn. Of course Kyungsoo does not want an acorn. Which wolf eats that?

Slowly, Kyungsoo got up and opened his other eye. He stretched his tired and lazy body and looked up to see that dawn has only just arrived. Looking around, he realised he had no idea where he was. God knows how far he ran last night. Kyungsoo only stopped running when he was so exhausted that he just lay beside a tree to sleep, still in his wolf form. He did not bother to change back into his human form as his senses were more accurate when he is a wolf.

Feeling thirsty, he smelled for water and when he did, he went wherever his nose lead him. He felt safe in this forest. He did not want to go back to GreyRaven as he was afraid that the alpha might give him to that old paedophile again. He worried for his parents though. The alpha may take his anger out on Kyungsoo's parents if anything went wrong and Kyungsoo did not want that. He did not want anyone to get hurt and he will feel guilty if his parents are hurt because of him.

Excited and relieved that he found a lake, he immediately went to it and drank huge gulps of water, hoping to quench his thirst soon. He was happily drinking water when he heard a twig snapped behind him and he immediately whirled his head back to see who the intruder was. Fear replaced his happiness when he saw a big size man smiling creepily at him. The intruder was huge; huge enough to even carry Kyungsoo up easily.

Kyungsoo bowed his head low, indicating that he meant no harm but everyone can see that the man meant harm even if Kyungsoo does not. Seeing the wolf so tamed, or in his dictionary, weak, the hunter smirked and took a dagger out of his bag. Kyungsoo's eyes widened as he slowly backed away when the hunter went closer to him. *Fight, you idiot! You can easily kill this person!* Kyungsoo's inner voice shouted at him but his mind went blank when he thought of how to fight. Never has he been out in the forest since birth and never has anyone had the intention to kill him even though his old pack used to bully him.

Jongin shook his dirty blonde fur and looked at his alpha who was just staring at a bush blankly. He ignored his leader and went to his loveable maknae. Jongin gave a throaty laughter as he saw the blood of a deer the maknae just killed. *You never eat properly, do you?* Jongin asked the maknae through their pack mind link as he licked the blood away from the maknae's snow white fur and the maknae gave him a grin, his tongue hanging at the side of his mouth.

*Hyung, are we going back already?* Sehun asked his leader, Yifan. The maknae was full and all he wanted to do was to lie in bed and sleep.

*The both of you head back first. I need to check something.* Yifan told them and ran off.

*You head back first. I'll follow him.* Jongin realised something was wrong and went to follow his leader.

He soon caught up with his leader as he was just hiding behind a bush, or rather spying. Jongin saw what his leader was seeing and froze. Standing by the lake was the most beautiful wolf he had ever seen. The wolf had big, adorable eyes and its maroon coloured fur was so soft that he just wanted to run his hand through it. *He's a shape shifter.* Yifan snapped Jongin out of his thoughts and Jongin looked at his leader, wondering how the hell did he knew that the lovely wolf is a shape shifter just by watching it drink from the lake.

*What are we going to do? Does he have a pack? If he does then he is invading our territory.* Jongin asked Yifan. Jongin was right and Yifan knew that but he just could not kill this cute wolf even if he really did invade their land. When Jongin was admiring Kyungsoo, so was Yifan.

They wanted to go and have a talk with Kyungsoo when suddenly a hunter appeared and the both of them ducked down so the hunter and Kyungsoo will not be able to see them. They saw the fear in Kyungsoo's eyes. *Hyung! Should we help him?* Jongin asked his leader but his leader was just watching, wanting to see what kind of fighting skills Kyungsoo has.

Kyungsoo tried to run away but the hunter grabbed hold of him. Kyungsoo roared in pain when the hunter stabbed his right side, right above his waist. The hunter smirked in victory when the poor, innocent wolf fell to the floor, whimpering in pain. Kyungsoo did not know what wrong he did. One moment he was drinking water from the lake and the next thing he know, the hunter attacked him. Kyungsoo closed his eyes and as he panted heavily but the hunter just stared at him, not caring if the wolf was in pain. In fact, the hunter would love to kill Kyungsoo. Maybe he could eat his meat for a few days and sell the maroon coloured fur for a high price.

*Hyung! He will die if we don't save him! He can't fight at all. He may not be in our pack but we are of the same kind.* Jongin wanted to slap some sense into his cold leader's head.

Just as the hunter was about to strike again, Kyungsoo got up on his feet and head-butt the hunter weakly, making the hunter stumble a few steps back. Kyungsoo leaned on a nearby tree in pain.

*You take care of him.* Yifan instructed and Jongin nodded, prepared to move when his leader does. The hunter wanted to strike another blow to Kyungsoo and that was when he appeared. Standing proud and tall with raven black fur, Yifan glared at the hunter. Jongin appeared as well and easily threw Kyungsoo onto its back and ran off, not needing to worry about Yifan. The hunter looked at the black wolf in fear. When he saw Kyungsoo, he was not scared at all but this black wolf looked like it will kill the hunter any moment now. And that was what it did.

"Joonmyeon hyung!" Jongin slammed the door opened and Joonmyeon, the beta of the pack gasped when he saw his dongsaeng carrying an unconscious and injured boy in his arms. On Jongin's way back to the pack house, Kyungsoo shifted back to his human form. Joonmyeon took Kyungsoo into his arms and brought him into the first room he saw, which was Jongin's room. Chanyeol immediately went to help his hyung when he saw Kyungsoo while Sehun was just peeking into the room at times to see if they needed help.

"Where's he?" Yifan entered the house as he adjusted his clothes. Yes, they still have their clothes on. Their clothes will just magically disappear when they shift into their wolf form and will appear again when they shift back.

"Joonmyeon hyung and Chanyeol hyung are stitching him up." Sehun informed as he went back to the room again.

"Hyung, who is he and where did you find him?" Chanyeol came out of the room. Yifan shrugged his shoulders and sat on the couch.

"We will have to ask where is he from when he's awake." Yifan said and Jongin told the rest what they saw and how Kyungsoo got hurt.

Kyungsoo opened his eyes and saw a light blue ceiling, the colour similar to the lovely sky outside. He tried to sit up but a stinging and sharp pain rippled through his body and he whimpered in pain. Looking down, he saw that he was in a foreign room and that he was in his human form but what shocked him the most was that he had no shirt on and there was a bandage on his wound, blood seeping through the moment Kyungsoo decided to be a smart ass and move again as he sat up and leaned his body on the head board. He looked around the foreign room and saw that it was messy and Kyungsoo frowned. He was not a fan of untidiness. His hand landed on some fabric on the bed and he grimaced when he saw it was a red underwear. With a fling of his wrist, the underwear went far away from him. *Where the hell am I?!*
