18. His Power

Students filled the lunch room as they went to grab their lunch before going back to their usual seats. Kyungsoo was munching onto his tuna sandwich as he watched Baekhyun teach Sehun Mathematics. "Is it good?" Jongin was on his right and he turned around just to have Jongin biting a piece of his lunch off. "It's good." Jongin grinned and Kyungsoo smiled back. The blonde male went back to his food and Kyungsoo went back to watching Baekhyun and Sehun.

"Kyungsoo?" This time it was Chanyeol who called him and the smaller male looked at him. "Are you okay? You look so out of it today."

"I'm fine." Kyungsoo told him. Zitao looked at Kyungsoo in suspicion but did not say anything. "I'm going to the toilet." The doe eyed male stood up and went out of the lunch room. Zitao wanted to go after him because Yifan told them to not let Kyungsoo be alone when Jongdae stopped him.

"Let him be alone." Everyone could see there was something wrong with Kyungsoo and Jongdae was no exception. The wushu practiser frowned when he saw that no one was going after Kyungsoo. Did they forget their promise to Yifan? "He needs some space too." Jongdae added.

Zitao knew where they were coming from but he still went after their newest member. There was something troubling Kyungsoo and he might want some time alone but Zitao promised to look after him and he definitely would not be able to forgive himself if anything were to happen to Kyungsoo.

Kyungsoo sighed as he looked at himself in the mirror. He was so goddamn confused. How? Where did all his bruises go to? He looked at his arms and saw that not even a trace of injuries was left and he was feeling perfectly fine. Even Sehun's medicine could not heal him that fast. He was pretty sure that someone might have the power to heal but how is he going to find out? If there was someone in the pack who could use a power, then he is not alone. Just that thought gave Kyungsoo hope.

Just then the door opened and Jaehyung and Minwoo stepped in. "Well well, who do we have here?" Jaehyung smirked. Kyungsoo avoided their eyes and tried to get out of the toilet but was stopped by Minwoo. "Where do you think you are going?" Jaehyung asked him as Minwoo locked the door. It was as if they have forgotten about Yixing's threat.

"What do you want?" Kyungsoo let out a soft sigh. He was still tired from yesterday's practice and had not much mood to do anything.

"How did you get into the DarkMoon pack? Did you bribe them or did you put them under a spell?" Jaehyung asked. "I can't believe someone so weak like you is able to join the pack when we can't. Or maybe I was wrong all this while. Maybe the DarkMoon and Moonstone pack are just a bunch of losers." The moment those words escaped his mouth, he was flung towards the wall and the tiles cracked.

Kyungsoo grabbed him by the throat and slammed him against the wall so hard that Jaehyung actually let out a whimper. "Jae!" Minwoo ran towards them and tried to attack Kyungsoo but Kyungsoo easily twisted Minwoo's arm with his free hand and pressed him against the wall as well. "Now, do I look like a weakling to you? Now do you know why I'm in the pack and you are not?!" He snarled.

Jaehyung shook in fear when he saw that Kyungsoo's brown orbs are now golden in colour. "You can insult me however you like but never ever insult my friends, you hear me?" Jaehyung quickly nodded. Just then the door burst opened and Kyungsoo turned around just to see Zitao looking at him in shock.

His eyes turned back into its original colour and he let go of Jaehyung and Minwoo. "Kyungsoo-" Zitao spoke but the red-headed boy ran out of the toilet. "Kyungsoo!" Zitao grabbed onto him so that he would not run away. However, Kyungsoo pushed him away and Zitao flew to the ground. Using this opportunity, the red-headed male shifted and ran as fast as he could.

"Kyungsoo!" Zitao shifted as well and let out a sad howl before running after him.

Everyone in the lunch room froze when they heard the howl. Cursing, Baekhyun was the first one to shift and he ran out of the room. The rest quickly followed him out as well. *What is it?* Baekhyun asked Zitao through the mind link and Zitao showed him and Jongdae whatever he saw just now. They were so shocked that they stopped running. The rest wondered what is going on. They could not see whatever Zitao showed them because they were not in the same pack as the other three.

*Go after him. Make sure that you don't lose sight of him.* Jongdae told Zitao before tracking down their scent and running towards the forest. Baekhyun snapped out of his shock and ran after his friends as well.

Tears filled the red wolf's eyes as he could not stop running. He felt like his heart was breaking. Zitao saw the secret he was keeping all this while. That was not the way he wanted his friends to know. Seeing that he was at the Halo Lake, he shifted back to his human form. He was not planning to run away. He just did not want to face any of them right now.

*They will think of me as a monster. A monster who has enormous strength.* He let out a cry as he punched the boulder beside him and it broke to a million pieces. *Why? Why now when I know I can't live without them? What if they were to abandon me like the GreyRaven pack did?* Tears flowed down as he looked at his reflection on the lake. His eyes were golden in colour again so he closed it and tried to calm down. 5 seconds later, he opened his eyes and it went back being brown.

"Kyungsoo." The red-headed male cursed when he saw Zitao behind him.

"Go away." His voice threatened to crack as a fresh set of tears welled up in his eyes.

"Why did you run?" Zitao asked instead. Kyungsoo shook his head and wanted to walk away when Zitao pulled him into his embrace. "Why? We told you we will protect you and that we will be with you. Don't you trust us?"

"I'm a monster! When I can't control my emotions, I will get this enormous strength and my eyes will turn golden! I'm a freak!" He struggled against Zitao's hold but to no avail. Because the boy has no control over his powers, they will only come out when he his emotions are not under control too.

"You are not a freak! You are not so please don't say that." Zitao stroked the back of his head.

"You don't understand!" Kyungsoo managed to pull away and looked up to meet his friend's eyes.

"Actually, we do." Jongdae appeared with the rest behind him. Jongin suddenly disappeared and appeared in front of Kyungsoo, shocking the smaller male. "We all have powers like you." To prove his point, he raised his right hand up and a bolt of lightning strike a nearby tree.

*Impossible.* Kyungsoo's eyes widened as he saw Chanyeol playing with a fire ball and Sehun creating a miniature typhoon. "How..?"

"We are all like you, Kyungsoo. We are blessed with powers. If you are a monster than I guess we are as well." Chanyeol gave him a warm smile as he reached out to pat the doe eyed boy's head and playing with his soft locks while he is at it.

"I'm not a freak." Kyungsoo mumbled to himself and the rest smiled when they heard it. "But why do my eyes turn golden in colour while yours remains the same?" Baekhyun could feel that the boy was very insecure so he reached out to squeeze his shoulders.

"We don't know but we will find out. We promised that we will take care of you and no one intends on breaking it. We will not leave you no matter what happens." He swore.

"Why? Why do you guys always do so much for me?" Kyungsoo asked and Baekhyun smiled.

*It's because we are all in love with you, Do Kyungsoo.* The older male took Kyungsoo's hands in his and gently squeezed it. "It's because we are a family and family do not abandon each other."
