With fear setting in, I slowly stand. It can't possibly be time for me to leave solitary confinement yet. The prison is lacking something though, there is no guard that could have released me from my confinement, no prisoners, nothing.
The prison is dark, silent, and cold with the only light coming in is from the moonlight through the large windows of the cell block. Goosebumps are left on my skin from the cold, it's so erie, I can't even begin to think of what is going on. I begin walking, slowly stepping onto the cold hard ground as I feel my way through the darkness. I stumble, almost falling, but catch myself on the wall. I peek out the door as I gain back my balance. As I look out the door I see nothing but dark halls only bright enough to barely see down.
I step out, a cold chill goes through my body and I grow dizzy. The room starts spinning and I hear another erie scream. The scream was loud, and it didn't sound close, but at the same time it sounded right beside me. I feel something drip from the walkway above me, it feels thick, like blood. I quickly look up as I swipe away the blood on my head. I see a small silhouette of what looks to be a child and it quickly runs away off into the distance as it lets out a playful laugh. The laugh sounded familier, it sounded like my daughter Ellie's laugh. It had been years since I have seen her, but why would she be wondering the halls of a prison, exspecially one with such notority for the criminals and people going insane, could I be going insane?
I hear another scream, it's origin comes from the direction the child went to, it had to have been the child. "I'm coming!" I yell as I begin running toward the scream. As I run, I notice everything isn't what it was before, the walls look burnt, like a fire raged through the prison, and every door open. Why would every door be open, and why is there no one here but me and a child? I didn't bother looking into any of the cells, I didn't think much of anyone being in there considering they would probably be far gone by now.
I eventually get to the end of the cell block, only to find no child and the doors locked. It's like the child had disapeared. I smell something strong, like death. It was coming from one of the cells.
I slowly walk towards the smell as it gets stronger and stronger. I cover my nose making sure not to throw up from the horrid smell. As I get closer I feel like I'm stepping in water, but it's not water, it's blood, the blood of a dead guard who lays in the middle of the cell mutalated. I look away, but as I look away I notice a set of keys on the mans belt. I reach for the keys covering my mouth as my hand gets closer to the corpse, still warm like he was just killed. I grab the key and quickly exit the blood filled cell. I return to the locked door. I don't know where the door leads, I haven't been to this part of the prison.
