Hizashi had been running ever since he left U.A, not even sure about how far he was or how much longer he has until he gets to his destination. He was desperate, lying to himself that Aizawa isn't hurt, nor in any form of danger; but he knew that wasn't the case. Aizawa would die in battle if that's what it took, and Hizashi admired that. However, in this moment, it was the last thing he could think of.
Finally seeing the building, Hizashi felt the adrenaline rushing through his body. Stepping into the arena, seeing it's condition along with scared and injured students scattered the entire building, along with Thirteen who looked as if he was holding by a thread.
Hizashi heard someone call out for him, and having no other choice but to follow the voice.
All he waned to do more than anything as to save Aizawa, which seemed selfish and he didn't feel like a hero having to think like this– but Aizawa was his motive to even get in the morning. Aizawa was his only family, a piece of him, and what good is a hero when you have no motive?
Giving into his guilt, he went with the student who asked as to why Hizashi was the only there and where the others are, and if they're coming. Hizashi coudlnt answer this truthfully, so he gave a white lie stating that he was already out doors when the school went on lock down and was told to come straight to USJ. The student of course bought the lie, informing Hizashi on what happened. When going to the topic of Aizawa, Hizashi's demeanor changed. "Sho– I mean, Aizawa, do you know where he is?" The student nodded slowly, pointing into the direction where everyone could see the Nomu and another individual standing. Hizashi didn't trust the feeling he suddenly got in his chest. It felt like something was aching, and his legs where shaking along with his hands, but he had to be strong. Not just for Aizawa, but the students. Midoriya, who was beat up and injured, was the first to notice Hizashi, keeping quiet so the villains didn't notice as well, but that didn't last long when Hizashi was Aizawa's body completely unconscious and bleeding from the head.
The ache in his chest began to grew, making it unbearable to even move. Hizashi looked directly at Midoriya, who was close to Aizawa, perhaps trying to protect him. "Who did this..?" Hizashi's question seemed more of an statement, demanding it. In reply, the man with the hands on his body chuckled, saying that 'Nomu' did that to him, and how amazing it was to watch him loose to something 'greater than All Might'. Hizashi knew that voice. "Tomura?" Hizashi's voice seemed deep and distraught. This caught the three students who were present by surprise. "You know him, Sensei!?" Mineta asked. Hizashi swallowed the spit in his throat, nodding. "Shigaraki, Tomura. Leader of League of Villains."
Tomura laughed. "By yourself, Present Mic? Where are the others?" The tone in his voice angered Hizashi. Tomura was mocking him, trying to get Hizashi to attack him, looking for another good fight. "Theyre coming," Hizashi replied back with the same distraught tone. "You should leave while you can." Everyone in the group, surrounding Hizashi, were so surprised to see him so tensed up and series. Hizashi had always been known for being a goof and being the person who lightens up the mood, no matter how bad they were feeling, but this.. seemed like a whole new person. Tomura was laughing again, mocking Hizashi, egging him on for a fight, which Hizashi was to agree to. However, in that moment, has felt something tugging the lower half of his pants, near the ankle areas. When Hizashi looked down to see what— or who it was, it was Aizawa, trying to tell him to night fight Tomura and to just ignore him or run away. Hizashi once again, felt the ache in his chest, making a fist out of his hands. He wanted to hurt Tomura, more than he has ever wanted to hurt anyone in his life—but before Hizashi could even think about throwing the first punch, a familiar voice along with a thud, has appeared. "No need to worry know," with those words, everyone turned their heads to the direction of the sound. "It's all okay." It was All Might, walking towards Midoriya and the group. "Why? Cause I'm here." Even though All Might spoke those infamous words, he wasn't smiling like how usually does in battle.
With his presence, Hizashi had picked up Aizawa, carrying him bridal style. All Might noticed the unconscious teacher, and then at Hizashi. "Go to the front exit, Mic. The police and ambulance are there."
Hizashi didn't respond but gave a slight nod, and before he left with Aizawa in his arms, Aizawa grabbed All Might by the corner of his sleeve and whispered something in his ear. All Might nodded, turning his focus back to the villains.

At the hospital, all Hizashi could think about was how badly his loved one was and how he couldn't do anything to prevent that from happening. The other thing that was bothering him was how hurt Midoriya also was. A student so young—no. No student should ever have to go through something like this, especially when you're being told that you're protected by the heroes around you.
While caught up in these thoughts, Aizawa's parents had arrived and sat next to him, asking for every detail that he knew. Of course, Hizashi could only tell a little bit since he, himself, didn't know much. He went on about how he wish he could've prevented Aizawa from going, or to convince him to take his student's some other day to throw off the villains, but Aizawa's parents were surprisingly comforting. Although they didn't support their relationship, they were praising Hizashi for trying his best to save their son.
After hours of waiting due to surgery, the doctor called out for Aizawa's parents to let them know he's out from surgery and that they would go and see him if they wished, but his mother was crying, hands over her face as her husband comforted her. Suddenly, the couple turned their heads toward Hizashi. "Yamada-San, we cant–we aren't ready..to see him.. like that. Do..do you mind..?" As parents, they had thought the suggestion seemed revolting, but Hizashi agreed to it, secretly wanting to be the first one to see him anyways. The doctor showed Hizashi the way toward's Aizawa's room, and on the way Hizashi couldn't shake the feeling of guilt away. He felt like he could've done so much more, but his mind was
So clouded and distorted when he saw Aizawa injured like the way he was.  When the doctor opened the door to Aizawa's room, Hizashi gave him a bow for respect, then went towards his partner as the doctor closed the door behind him. Aizawa was covered in bandages and bruises, he had also gotten stitches near his eye, and both of his arms were in casts while his legs where propped up, bandaged. Aizawa was  still a sleeping too, probably from all the drugs he was on for the pain.
Hizashi took the seat nearby and scooted it close to Aizawa, playing with his hair since his face seemed like the only part of him that wasn't covered in bandages. Hizashi wasn't going to lie to himself, he wanted to cry. He wanted to cry so much, knowing that he failed to protect the only person who has ever loved him like that. There were so many things Hizashi wanted to apologize for. Not just for today, but for all the times Hizashi had let him down. Finally letting the tears come out, Aizawa woke up, turning his head to face his partner. "..'Zashi?" Surprised by his voice, Hizashi wiped his eyes and cleared his throat. "H-hey! You're up.."  "..Yeah.."
there was so much pain in Aizawa's voice, but Hizashi tried his best to ignore it. "Y-Your parents are here, you know? Also, Asui's parents called here for you. Apparently she told them that you saved her even when you were–"
"'Zashi. I'm fine, okay? Don't worry about me."
Aizawa could tell how guilty and scared Hizashi was for him, and he all he wanted to do was to comfort him. "You can't change what happened back there."
Hizashi cleated his throat again, trying to hold back tears. "I-I know. I just.." Hizashi went quiet for awhile, letting the silence make everything awkward until he spoke again. "I'm sorry I couldn't save you in time. When I heard the principal say we went on lockdown I just–I knew something happened— and I'm sorry I couldn't get to you, or the students in time."
Aizawa's eyes widened a bit, not knowing what to say. "I don't what I would've done if.. if they-"
"Hizashi.. I didn't fall in love with you cause of your quirk or ability to be a pro-hero.." AizWa grunted a bit, trying to adjust himself to look directly at Hizashi, but his body was still sore. "I fell in love with you cause you always find a way to make everything better, and because you treat me better than I can ever ask for. You can't save everyone— but you did save me. If you hadn't come when you did, then they might've come back for me."
Hizashi was crying again, his cheeks red. "When we first got together, I promised that i would always protect you-"
"And you do." Aizawa cut him off, giving him a smile to reassure him. "Don't doubt yourself like that." Hizashi wiped the tears from his face but his voice stayed raspy and desperate. "I can't help it. No matter what I do, it's never enough.. you deserve so much better than me."
Aizawa's smile quickly disappeared when hearing those words. "'Zashi, that's not true, at all. You're everything I could ask for- and more. There are things you do for me that no one else would.. I'm still alive, aren't I? You also saved me and brought me here. I'm alive cause of you." Hizashi nodded, getting closer to Aizawa and letting his head rest on Aizawa's chest. "I'm sorry-" "Don't be," Aizawa then gave Hizashi a gentle kiss on the head. "I know you're just worried."

After calming down Hizashi, the two had fallen asleep with Hizashi on Aizawa's chest, who's head was on top of Hizashi. They both knew that because of this, they grew stronger together. Not just their relationship, but their will power to become better heroes, too.
