the past week had been rainy and alice hadn't visited the shop once after our small conversation. i sighed and leaned against the corner. with this type of weather, rarely anybody stopped by. cody pulled up a stool and sat next to me.
"what a drag... there's nothing to do..." he grumbled, pulling out his phone.
"i agree... but if we skip, boss is gonna get mad..." i replied, resting my head on my arms.
"oh! my girlfriend texted! she's inviting me to hang out on saturday and she wanted me to bring a friend along since her friend is going." cody chirped excitedly.
"so you're basically setting me up on a blind date...?" i asked nonchalantly.
"kinda...? i mean, it's going to be a double date so why not?" cody shrugged and gave me a goofy grin.
"who's your girlfriend again...?" i asked, rubbing my forehead.
"her name is Caroline! i can't believe you forgot! sometimes i don't know if you're really my best friend...." cody gasped, slapping my back.
"sorry man.... yeah, i should be free..." i chuckled in reply, rubbing my back.
