So I' am a little pressed🙃. I guess wattpad decided to delete my character chapter. I honestly have no clue why. I think it has something to do with the updates the app is going through. Idk?

David

"Daddy these shoes are ugly." Angel whined as I pulled out a pair of black buckle up shoes that Angel was required to wear with her uniform for kinder-garden.

They weren't the usual pink, sparkly, light up shoes Angel was accustomed to wearing everyday. But she didn't have a choice. The neighborhood school that I had enrolled her in required a strict dress code, which she had to follow.

Angel would be attending kindergarten in less than five months. And as much I wanted to say I was ready for her to experience the start of school. I was slightly nervous. Angel was very sheltered and wasn't the best when it came to meeting new kids that were her age. Though I was preparing her day by day to make sure by the time school rolled around she was ready.

"I know baby. But these are what big girls wear to school."

"Well then I can just stay little and wear my pink shoes then." Angel cheesed.

I chuckled and shook my head. "Baby girl that not how it works."

"I was able to find these in a 3 and a half is that ok?"

We both looked up to see the tall, blonde employee that had helped us throughout are visit at the store, standing there with a small box in his hands.

"Thank you." I took the pair from his grasp.

I waited for him to leave so I could slip Angel's shoes off, though he just stood there staring.

"White people are strange." Angel whispered to herself.

I intensely eyed her. She had been saying slick things under he breath for the past few weeks, and I knew it was the result of being around my sister for too long. Considering Kim had abosoutely no filter and had to give her direct opninion on everything.

"Can I help you?" I questioned with an even tone and scrunched my brows together. I handed the shoes to Angel, implying her to put them on herself.

"I-I don't mean to be a bother sir, but didn't you used to play in the NBA?"

I nodded my head and gave him a toothy grin.

"I did. For almost four years." I proudly admitted.

"David Williams? Number #3? Atlanta Hawks right?" He said as more than a statement than a question.

I was taken back. It had been months since I had ran into somebody who recognized me. Let alone knew my exact jersey number. When I went out in public there were times were I was acknowledged from my past or people wanting autographs. But the press I got now a days, were nothing compared to the press I got back when I still played.

"That's me."

"This is surreal man! I used to watch you all the time. I am such a big fan. I actually just got a full ride to Michigan state for basketball."

"I am happy to hear that, man. Doing what you love, putting energy into it, and never letting it fade out of sight, will take you far places. Remember that." I remarked and dapped him up. Shit like this, made my day.

I turned back to Angel who had neglected to put on the shoes.

"Angel Aaliyah Williams. I am not gonna ask you to put on these shoes again. I can still whoop you in this store" I retorted and picked up the shoes that Angel had tossed on the ground.
