MARINA's POV
"Come on, Lana," I giggled, tugging her hand. I could tell we would become best friends.
"Coming!" She groaned, struggling to keep up in her hills. I loved her outfit.
I heard her gasp behind me as we entered the throne room. Oh, the bodies. I turned to her and rolled my eyes,"Sorry for the mess."
Her face brightened back up instantly,"It's no big deal, darling." She patted my shoulder with her long, red nails. I smirked and skirted around them, heading towards my room.A guard rushed to me,"My queen, there appears to be dead bodies all over the floor!" His eyes were wide like cherry pies. I narrowed my eyes.
"But I ordered all the guards to drink shampain while we played with the bodies. Why didn't you hear that?"
He swallowed slowly,"I-"
"I also ordered that no one go outside today. Where were you?" I blinked at him, feeling my long lashes brush my cheeks.
Lana watched alertly beside me. I glanced at her, flashing her a smile that said Don't worry, I'll handle it.
I saw him pale and I walked up to him. He was scrawny for a guard. I grabbed his collar that peeked out from under his breastplate. I wrapped my arms around his neck.
"What's your name?"
"Bl-Blake, Your Highness," He shivered.
" Blake," I murmured, holding him close with one arm. My right arm slid into my pocket of my robe.
"Yes?" His voice shook. I grasped the dagger in my hand and brought it up to wrap around his neck, letting the sharp edges graze his neck like a metallic kiss.
"Blake, you disobeyed me," I tsked, disappointed. I heard Lana chuckle behind me. I grinned.
"You didn't listen to me," I continued, pressing the dagger lightly into his neck. He tensed.
"So, what I want you to do, Blake," I said, bringing the dagger up to his face,"Is take this and chop that unresponsive ear off. It doesn't work, so why do you need it?"
Lana and him both gasped. I drew my lips into a tight line, waiting.
He looked at me, speechless.
I leaned over to his ear,"I think the words you are looking for are 'Yes, Your Grace.'"
He eyed the dagger. Then shook his head.
I looked at him in disbelief. How dare he disobey me again? I bit my lip,"Now," I commanded. I pressed the dagger into his hand.
He grasped it with shaky hands. I saw him look at me out of the corner of his eye and saw it coming. Right as he aimed the dagger for my heart, I drop-kicked him backwards onto the floor. Before he could get up, I yanked the dagger out of his hand and slapped him, hard.
"It's a shame, Blake," I whispered into his ear, reaching behind to get the dagger. I smiled," But first," I stabbed his thigh and he screamed, then I severed his ear quickly. He gaped at me, his scream dying in his throat.
" Goodnight," I sneered softly into his non severed ear, before plunging the knife into his neck.
I stood, dagger in hand, and turned to Lana. I saw fear spark of fear in her eyes for a second but it disappeared quickly. She was good at hiding her emotions, I noticed.
"I understand why you did that. You couldn't trust him, could you? If he wouldn't tell the truth to his own queen, then he doesn't deserve trust." She commented, looking dully at Blake.
I nodded, a little disappointed that I made another mess after I just took a bath.
"Well Lana, you are welcome to sleep in my room. I'll sleep in the queen's bedroom."
"What happened to the queen?"
I stared at her, surprised,"She died when I was very young."
"I'm so sorry.. I shouldn't of asked-"
"It's fine. I didn't even know her that well to be fond of her. Want to go now?" I offered her my hand. She took it.
"Of course," she replied.
