Troubled Minds

LOKI's POV

It's all boring. This- this pure obedience from everyone and no conflict. I can't help but almost wish Fath- no- Odin- was alive still. At least then I had a reason to wake up with determination and pure drive to be king, and then now that I have it, I don't feel as pleased as I should be.
I wonder how Thor and Mother are doing, all locked up. Mother, perhaps, didn't deserve, but I cannot trust her to not rebel against me now that I've killed Odin. Thor deserves his imprisonment. He won't understand me. And he shall not even try, because he never did and never will.
Perhaps I should put them both out of their misery. I have no use for them afterall...
I turn towards the direction in which they were kept, taking a step forward. I stopped.
They are your mother and brother! I heard myself think.
No, they aren't. I am a frost giant. I am not even their blood.
Yet, they raised me, so I had to repay them somehow.. I think I'll let them live. For now, at least.
I heard footsteps and turned, annoyed. What now?
Lafina. By now, her name was almost a curse word in my head. She was such a bothersome little quim..
"King Loki, sir," she curtsied.
"What?" I answered, trying my best not to shake in an annoyance.
"People are inquiring about Thor and Frigga. The Three are looking for Thor. Jane, his midgardian girlfriend, misses him. They like me. They wanted me to talk to you."
"Lafina.."
"Please, tell me they are okay."
"I told you already. Prison cells."
"No!" She cried out, her eyes bright,"I know that! But why, why are they in them? Thor is-was- King Odin's son! Frigga is the queen! Why are they in there? They should be ruling now, not you!"
I felt my eyes widen. I stepped dangerously close to her and took a fistful of her dark hair and replied angrily," Do not ever speak to me like that again. You are a dangerous mortal, I can tell. Do not try me, Lafina. I can make your death look like an accident... And as for the people asking, tell them this: I didn't wanted to alarm the people, but it was Frigga and Thor who summoned Laufey to kill Odin."
Her eyes widened,"They did? Why?"
I nodded," It shames me to say it, but Thor overheard Odin talking about Frigga and how he has grown to stop loving her. Thor told mother and she feared for her life, because Odin mentioned poison, too. Frigga tricked Thor to get Laufey and that's when Frigga told him to kill Odin. "
I smiled to myself at her shocked expression. She bought it, of course.
"Oh. I-I'm sorry for being so rude.. Your Highness.."
I caught her hands,squeezing them tight,"I forgive you, but never do that again.. Understood?"
I felt her shiver and she bobbed her head up and down.
"Perfect." I grinned.
