I was the first awake, apart from Caroline. “morning.” I said quietly. “Morning Jaz... you alright?” she looked up from her phone. “I'm just nervous about later...” It was Saturday... I had to present Xtra Factor with Bella today. I was scared out of my skin. “You’ll be fine, if you say something wrong just laugh and carry on...” I was so glad she was my friend. I didn’t realise Olly was awake until I felt his arms around my waist and his head on my shoulder. “Morning you two...” his smile lifted our spirits. “Morning gorgeous...” I turned around and gave him a hug. “How are you feeling today Carrie?” he let go of me and sat with Caroline. I sat next to Bella trying to wake her up. “My head still really hurts and I can’t really remember how I got here but apart from that I'm just tired.” I managed to wake Bella up and I introduced her to Caroline... Bella basically freaked out. “Bella calm down please remember where we are and why we are here.” That shut her up. I rang Dawn... I needed someone to sit with Caroline. I arranged for Dawn to come and keep Caroline company while I went and did rehearsals and stuff with Bella and Olly. We hugged Caroline goodbye making sure we didn’t catch any of her tube things to keep her hydrated and stuff. I grabbed Olly’s hand as we got back to fountain studios, I was so nervous. I never normally was but there was something in the air. Like something was missing. I guess without Caroline it was so dull and quiet. I saw Dermot. “Dermot you have to help me!” I ran over to him. He opened his arms and pulled me into a hug. “What’s the matter?” I stepped back. “I have to present Xtra Factor with my friend Bella and we have no idea what we’re doing or where and... and...” I was so worried about Caroline I had forgotten everything. “First of all calm right down! Caroline is going to be fine! Second of all come with me...” he grabbed mine and Bella’s hands and dragged us down to the studio. He introduced us to Sarah James the Senior Producer and Tim Dean the Director. “Firstly we’re going to have to explain why Caroline isn’t on the show without telling them the story...” we had started writing our script. I was petrified in case I messed this all up... “How about you say: Welcome to the Xtra factor I’m Jaz and I’m Bella” she said pointing at us individually. “Now you may have noticed Caroline isn’t here, this is because she has been involved in a minor accident and unfortunately cannot be with us this evening, but she will hopefully return to your screens next week!” we were on the stage. “But until then you have us two crazy girls who are right now living our dream and dying inside but as we have to be professional lets go speak to four truly amazing people. OUR X FACTOR JUDGES!” I laughed at Bella as we walked towards the panel. “Can I say something before we begin?” I nodded to Gary. “Thank you to you girls for stepping in for Caroline... we know she’ll be watching and it is a hard time for us all in this situation but Caroline we love you and get well soon!” we applauded Gary. It was so true. It was a hard situation and we did love Caroline. After chatting to the judges we went to a break. I had managed to not mess up so far. Touchwood. We had 3 minutes before we were back on air. Olly came and gave me a hug. “You’re doing great babe...” I looked up at him. “Thanks Ol’s...” he kissed me. Not like before. This was a proper kiss. A romantic one. I suddenly heard Tim in my ear piece. “Look towards the stage...” I looked towards the main stage and saw a camera crew smiling away at us. “Is this live?!” they all nodded. I turned away and mouthed ‘Sh*t’ towards Tim’s electronic tower thingy that he sits in to see everything. “I hate you Tim Dean!” I hugged Olly goodbye and walked towards the studio. “Right after that can we please talk to our mystery guests and not about what just happened?” Bella laughed at me. “Now Bella I don’t want you to die but, its ONE DIRECTION!” I saw Bella jump up and down in excitement and then freeze as Niall walked in the room.”Aaah Oh My God its One Direction!!!” we hugged all the boys and Bella wouldn’t let go of Niall. “Bella please let him go, Niall I’d advise a restraining order!” we all laughed. Louis being the wind up merchant that he was, was trying to move back onto the subject of me and Olly. “Okay if anyone else mentions me and Olly one more time you won’t be able to sing again!” that shut them all right up. I raised my eyebrows at Louis as he was sniggering. Bella moved the subject swiftly on. “S, s, so g, g, guys what have y, y, y, you been up to recently?” she was so nervous bless her. “Niall would you mind sitting next to Bella? Even though I’ll probably never hear the end of it?” he swapped seats with Harry. “Sure.” She basically screamed making me and Niall both go deaf. I laughed at her. “So boys, we hear you’re going on tour in America soon. Fancy packing us in your suitcases?”Bella and I made puppy dog faces. “I don’t think we can fit Olly in as well...” I glared at Louis. “Funny one. Anyway what do you plan to do in America? Apart from sing something that goes along the lines of...” What Makes You Beautiful started playing in the studio; me and Bella started dancing under Tim’s instructions. Zayn and Liam just sat there while Niall, Louis and Harry joined in with our dancing. “Um, eat Nandos... Obvs!” Bella high-fived Niall while I rolled my eyes. “Get girls.” I looked at Harry. “But what about Louis? He might get jealous.” That wiped the grin off Louis face. “Ha, ha, ha funny one.” Louis said sarcastically. “I'm going to buy a mirror” we laughed at Zayn. “And I'm going to make sure none of them get lost on a night out!” trust Daddy Direction. “Fair do’s” we chatted for a while longer before talking to the girl’s category and going to another break. “I will kill you for earlier Tim!” I hissed into my microphone. “Aahh!” I shrieked as Olly grabbed my stomach to give me a hug. “Olly that hurt!” I probably didn’t sound as cross as I wanted to because I was laughing. “You two keep it down!” I suddenly heard Tim in my ear. “Sorry Tim!” I giggled. “Look at Bella...” Olly pointed in her direction. “Niall and Bella are in lo’ove!” Olly wolf whistled and we sat there in fits of laughter as they both went bright red. “Shut up Jaz! You locked yourself in the bathroom I heard!” I got up to hit her jokingly. “Calm down!” She laughed. “Jaz, Bella get to the studio. NOW!” we sprinted back to the studio, two seconds to spare before we were back on air. “Welcome back to the Xtra Factor.” Every time we’re back on air we have to explain why Caroline isn’t there. “It’s nice to hear hash tag get well soon Caroline is trending. If you are watching Cazza please get well soon we have to do this again tomorrow and we all miss you!” we were struggling not to mess up. We did ‘The Face Off’ and showed a prank Gary played on Louis. (Walsh not Tomlinson). After introduce One Direction to do a special performance and me and Bella were off air we got into Olly’s car. He drove us back to the hospital where Caroline was having stitches. “Hey guys great show!” she tried to smile. “Thanks Caroline how are you feeling?”We sat next to her bed. “This is really hurting but I'm allowed to go home on Monday...” Olly’s smile returned. “I'm not sure I want to go home, Conner knows where I live.” I looked at Bella who was staying at my house for this weekend. “Well we need to check if he has been round to yours, you know in case he’s broken in or something, but you could stay at mine for a bit if you like...”I didn’t want her to feel unsafe in her own home. “You’d let me stay at yours?” I nodded. “Of course I would! Don’t want you stuck here...” “I want to hug you but I can’t. Thank you Jaz, it won’t be for long I promise.” Olly hugged me. “There you go I hugged her for you...” Caroline managed a laugh. I fell asleep in the corner before I had to do Xtra again tomorrow.
