Chapter 12 - Decision

That afternoon itself, Jiyong went to meet with Athena's parents. 

- Athena's POV - 

I didn't know what to expect: whether my parents would be shocked and devastated or happy and thankful or they had already seen it coming. Jiyong explained the whole story calmly and showed my parents the official documents from the hospital as prove. They were slightly taken aback upon hearing the astonishing news, but soon became calm and collected. My mom pulled me into her loving arms for a warm comforting hug, saying she has always loved me the same and will always do. 

Jiyong then made a video call to his parents back in Korea.

"Omma, I have something to tell you. I have found my younger sister, your birth daughter. The DNA tests have proven that she really is my biological sister." Jiyong anxiously broke the news to his mother, or should I say, our mother. 

For a moment, Jiyong's mother paused, not because of poor wifi connection, but because she was in shock realising that the daughter she had lost from birth has been found. 

"Oh my gosh, Jiyong, this is not a prank right? I would like to see her face."

The phone was passed to me and I held it near my face. On the screen, there was this middle-aged woman that somewhat looked like a mix of Jiyong and I. She scrutinised and observed the features of my face closely, while not breaking any eye contact.

"What is your name pretty young lady?" She smiled sweely at me, with tender loving eyes. 

"My real name is Kwon Da Yeon, but people call me Athena." 

Looking at Jiyong's mother brings in a wave of comfort I've never felt before. After my parents talked to Jiyong and his parents, they told me that I would still be living under their roof until I've finished my studies. Only then. Jiyong would take me back to my new home.

- End of Athena's POV -

Days went by and BIGBANG's departure day arrived. The boys went to pick the girls up from their houses and they went to the airport together.

"I'm going to miss you guys so much!" Athena half cried as she hugged everyone in the tinted SUV. 

"Aww, don't worry Athena, we'll come visit you after we're done with our tour, or you may come and live with one of us in Korea." T.O.P said with a shy smile as he patted her head.

"I think the ones that are going to suffer the most are Seungri and Jessica. Look, they have been inseparable since she came into the car." Daesung half laughed. 

Indeed the couple has been cuddling the entire trip to the airport. Both Jessica and Seungri had sad watery eyes, but they both held back their tears and tried to stay calm. Just thinking about the many months not being able to meet each other was too much for the couple. They bawled their eyes out as the car pulled over to the drop off area in front of the airport. Squeals of many fans could be heard and it was time for the boys to leave. They all exchanges hugs and of course for the couple, Seungri had to give Jessica a goodbye kiss. 

They hopped out of the car and greeted all the fans who have taken the time to see them off. Athena and Jessica saw the boys disappear into the sliding doors and the car took them back home. 

For a week, the two girls have been less talkative, both probably missing the company they had two weeks ago. BIGBANG seems to be very busy, as the news reports mentioned that they had just finished two fan meetings in Europe.  Just before Athena switched off her nightlight, her phone chimed. 

In the group chat

Daesung: HIIIIIII ATHENA AND JESSICA!! HOW HAVE YOU ALL BEEN? 

Jiyong: Dae's too excited lol. I miss you both already. What's good?

Athena: I miss you both so much :( Everything's the same, Jessica has been crying quite a bit. 

Daesung: OMG!! Same as Seungri!! These lovebirds, I feel bad for them, must be really tough. 

Athena: Yeah... Anyway I should go off first, it's almost 12am here in Sydney. Goodnight oppas, take care. 

Daesung & Jiyong: Goodnight Athena. Sleep tight.
