Distractions

Zayn's POV
After the fight was finished we came back in the house and made sure everyone was ok. No one of our side died but 42 were injured. Even though we won something was still suspicious. Im sure the other alpha knew the wolves he sent were bound to be killed because our pack is way stronger and it was obvious we were going to win so why'd he do it. "Its strange because jericho wasn't even there to fight his own battle" nate said. "Were missing something. Why would he send only 50 wolves when we have more than 100 here. And why wouldn't he show up himself" i said. We all stood there with confused faces on trying to figure out what was going on. "IT WAS A DISTRACTION" i said. Everyone shot their heads up and stared at me for an explanation. "He purposely sent those wolves here to start a battle knowing they would die. He never showed up because he was busy trying to......oh my god nate mindlink natalie" i said. "Why why what happened" nate said. "You idiot he was distracting us to get monique. He must have knew i was gonna send her away so he kept an eye on us until she left with melanie" i said. Nate began to mindlink natalie but had a confused look on his face. "Shes not answering alpha" he said. I shot out of the room running out into the woods in the direction of the safe house. I stopped to take of my clothes so i could shift back if i needed to. I held my clothes in my mouth and continued on looking for any trails of monique and natalie. As i run through the woods feeling the sticks break underneath my paws and the wind flow through my fur i look left and right trying not to miss a single thing. Minutes pass and as im getting closer to Natalie's scent i smell blood. When im able to smell her scent i run towards it. As im running i stop at the sight of natalie laid on the ground shifted back into her naked human body. I quickly shift back to human form and put my shorts back on but walk up to natalie and cover her body with my shirt. Luckily it is long enough to cover most of her body. "Natalie natalie wake up". I shake Natalie's shoulder to get her to be conscious again. Her eyes began to squint open and look at me. She opened her mouth to talk but nothing came out. "Natalie listen to me. Where.is.monique". She began to wake up more but look worried when i said monique's name. "Im sorry alpha please forgive me but jericho came and took monique with two other men" natalie said. "I tried to fight him off i really did but he was too strong". I looked down at natalie and noticed she had bruises on her face and a bite mark on her neck. "Its ok natalie. You need to go back to the head house to heal. Dont worry we'll find monique". I bent over to pick up natalie so i could carry her back to the pack but she pushed my hand away slowly. "No alpha you should find monique. I can mindlink nate to come help me" she said. "Are you sure" i said. She nodded her head in reply. "Ok but once you get back to the house make sure to inform our strongest men to come to jericho's land" i said. "Yes alpha". I then went behind a tree to shift back.
Monique POV
Jericho and his men finally stopped beating me. My stomach was aching in pain, my eyes were swollen and i could barely keep one open. I tried to mindlink zayn but im too weak to focus. As my vision became more clear i saw jericho walking towards me. "Your finally woke" he said. I had passed out midway through getting beaten. I had woken back up before this but once i opened my eyes i was kicked in the head resulting in me passing back out. "Why are you doing this" i said. "I want to be known as the leader of the biggest baddest pack in the nation. But zayn has that title so i decided to kill him and take over his pack as the alpha. But with a pack you need a luna so when i saw you i realized i could have you also" he said. "For a while i had been having my men follow you around and watch you and zayn at his house" he said. "Wait...so that was one of your men that was chasing me at zayns house" i said. He chuckled at what i saw and brought his head up to look at me. "No no sweety that was melanie. I had convinced melanie to work for me through nathan. Once she had said yes nathan set her free and they had been trying to come up with ways to get you. But it turns out their both useless as hell. Nathans gotten himself captured and could be dead for all i care, and i had to teach melanie a lesson for disobeying me" he said while walking towards another direction. When i tried to look closer i had noticed there was another woman in the corner tied up in the air NAKED. "Monique this is what happens if you disobey me" jericho said while walking up to the woman. I tried to see who she was but her long brown hair was covering her face. Jericho was slowly walking up to her unbuttoning his shirt. When he got in front of her he moved her hair from her face and turned her around. "Melanie you need to be taught a lesson" he said. I couldnt believe what i was seeing. He had unzipped his pants and.......raped her. I closed my eyes and started sobbing to myself. I wish i could do something to help her but i couldnt. Me and melanie had our differences and to be honest i didnt really like her but i would never wish this on anybody. I sat there rocking back and forth with my head deep into my knees crying and praying to leave. I prayed for the screams to stop. I prayed for her pain to stop. I prayed for him to stop. But they never stopped. All i heard was screams of help and hitting noises. As i rocked back and forth everything went silent. I heard nothing at all so i looked up and saw melanie's body still hanging in the air tied up but she wasnt conscious anymore. As i studied her body she was bleeding in between her legs and she was now swinging in the air softly. Jericho was nowhere in the room and neither was any of the men that was helping him. When i looked down i noticed i wasnt handcuffed anymore. "He must've took them off when i was passed out". I got up slowly and started to walk towards melanie. She had gone through so much and i couldnt just watch her die tied up like that. When i got in front of her i reach towards her hands and untied her. Before she fell to the ground i caught her and laid her down. I put two fingers to her neck to check her pulse and i felt one. When i felt that she had a pulse i started smiling. Yes she tried to hurt me and she was a traitor but i didn't want to see her dead. When i looked in the corner i saw a small blanket. I got up from my knees and went to get it. I returned back to melanie and covered her in the blanket. When i looked around i noticed there was a door. I tiptoed to the door to see if it was unlocked. When i turned the knob the door was locked unfortunately but someone on the other side of the door was unlocking it and twisting the knob. As the door opened i turned around to run but before i could start running i felt a hand cover my mouth and i was being pulled out of the room in one motion.
