Ps. I'm searching for a real title for my book so if you have any ideas, let me know. Like The Maze Runner - ..........
A cold, dark room was the new surrounding of her. The ground underneath her feet was made out of metal. All she could do was sit while the metal box she was in was going up like an old lift making harsh sounds of metal hitting metal. It was like the sound of an old steel factory that continued to echo through the box. It seemed like there was no end to it. Like the place she came from was more than a thousand feet underneath the ground. At least she thought she was underground, since that would make sense for the total darkness that was around her. Whatever she was in, she didn't like it. She pulled her legs up and pressed them tightly to her body with her arms waiting for the box to stop moving. The movements made her sick to the stomach.
Why couldn't she remember anything? She only remembered waking up in the box. Nothing of how she got there, and who her family is. It scared her. The only thing she did knew was her name. Kaia. The rest was like a blur, everything totally washed out of her brains. Why was she in here? She didn't understand. Everyone should remember where they are from right? It didn't make sense. Some imagines of people flashed across her mind, but she didn't recognize their faces.
Every second remaining in the box felt like an eternity. All she could wish for was for the box to stop moving before she might start throwing up from the heavy ride.
Minutes passed when the box finally stopped moving with a hard groan. The sudden change from movement to nothing made Kaia fell over on her side. She scrambled up on her feet to get in a better position and check out the box and why it had suddenly stopped. She searched for a way out, but there wasn't. She already checked it out more than 20 times since she was in here.
A loud clank rang out above her and without a warning a straight line of light appeared above her. Being in such darkness for so long made the light that was now surrounding her feel like her eyes were about to burn out. As quick as she could Kaia turned her face away from the light covering it with one hand.
She started to hear noises above her. It where voices. Were there people? It felt like a relieve she wasn't alone anymore but at the same time she was anxious about who were the ones above her and what they wanted from her.
"It's another girl."
"She's so skinny."
As soon as Kaia got used to the light some more she took her hand away to take a look at the people the voices belonged to. She couldn't see much at first. Adjusting to the light she could only see shifting shadows at first. Soon they turned into the shapes of bodies. After a couple of seconds her complete eye vision had returned and Kaia could see actual people standing in front or her, bending over the hole in the ceiling looking down at her. They were whispering to each other.
One boy jumped down in the box. He was tall, had a skinny but muscled posture, dark brown hair, and hazel eyes. He reached out to her as a sign to help her up. She hesitated for a second but realized she had no other choice. With some help of the other people standing outside of the box she soon stood with two feet on the ground. The boy who was in the box now was standing next to her.
"Welcome to the Glade." He then said.
