Chapter 11

So uh... I'm not sure how good this chapter is. Sorry if it's not good at all. Uh... Also there's only like 9 more chapters after this. Kbye.

Chapter 11:

 “Alright everyone, help me welcome our next guests, three-fourths of Silent Playground: Natalie Reed, Chase Evans, and DeDe Johansen!” As soon as Jimmy Fallon announced us, we walked out from behind the curtain and across the stage, the crowd cheering. I was silently fangirling as I hugged him in greeting before Chase and Delia did the same. We all sat on the couch, me being closest to his desk. “Thanks for being here! Your first time on The Tonight Show!” Jimmy Fallon said as the crowd quieted down.

“Thank you for having us,” I replied with a smile. “We’re definitely excited to be here, even if it’s without Garrett.”

“Yeah we’re gonna need to have you back to perform once he’s back in action. He’s in rehab, correct?” I nodded. “Can you tell me what he’s there for? I’ve heard so many different things.”

Chase cleared his throat before speaking. “The first thing I want to say is that Garrett going to rehab was a sort of preemptive strike before anything got out of hand and dangerous to his health. But he is getting help for sex addiction and alcoholism and cocaine use.” I cringed when Chase said that. We weren’t technically supposed to give specifics, especially about the cocaine, which none of us had been aware of until a phone call from Garrett the week before. He said in order to move on he had to apologize for lying to all of us. Needless to say, I wasn’t pleased with him at all. He had been using again for months and kept it from us.

“Of course. I hope he does well in there and gets back out soon! I need a tour from you guys!” We all thanked him. “So, can any of you tell me about this mystery album release? There’s been buzz about an album, and then nothing, and then your label announces an EP from you. What’s that about?”

Delia took this question, as it was something I was still bitter about. “We did have a full album recorded and we were all really proud of it. We did some classic rock/hair band covers and the songs we wrote and recorded all had a very classic rock feel to them, because we wanted the fans to get a glimpse at what really got us into music, ya know? So we finished the album and sent it to the label, and they okayed it. But last week we got the news that they didn’t want to release the album. Instead we’re releasing all of the covers we recorded as an EP and we’ll work on the new album and hope it kicks ass.” She slapped a hand over her mouth. “Sorry, I can’t say that can I?” Everyone in the studio chuckled.

“That’s alright, that’s what editing is for,” Jimmy joked. “So you’re all taking a break soon. What are your plans?”

“I’m going to Disney World!” Delia cheered, causing people to laugh.

“I’m going to Cleveland to visit my family. My younger brother is turning 21 so I’m gonna be there for that,” Chase said, smiling. He was really excited about seeing his family.

“Natalie what about you? Any excitement in the cards?” Jimmy asked me.

I shrugged. “I haven’t finalized anything yet but I might be going to Europe.”

“Anywhere specific? Going to visit any, uh, cute lads?” He smiled cheekily and held up a card with one of the photos I’d tweeted of Louis and I when we hung out.

I fought rolling my eyes and shrugged nonchalantly. “We’ll see what happens, Jimmy.”

“Gah!” He groaned. “You have to give me something!”

I shook my head and held my hands up. “There’s nothing to give you. Louis and I are friends. If we become more, I’ll text you,” I joked, smirking.
