He looked right over at me as if I asked the heavens to let him see me out of the hundreds of people in here. A look of confusing swept across his face, his dark eyes grew even darker and I watched him slowly approach me.
That's it. We're both fired.
"Miss Brown," he stood at my table where I am currently sitting, drinking my vodka. "I can't believe you would lie to me and go behind my back letting Allison cover yours and Lucy's shift, saying your sick, when in reality you both lied and came clubbing!"
Maybe I was getting quite drunk, because I actually checked him out in that moment. I've never seen him in casual clothing. He's always wearing a suit around the office, but tonight, I liked what I saw. He wore a black button up shirt, leaving a few buttons undone at the top which exposed a bit of his chest. My eyes skimmed down and saw he was wearing jeans. Jeans! Our boss in jeans.
They actually looked pretty good on him though. His hair that was always neatly gelled was still gelled, however he had a few loose hairs falling on his forehead.
"Well?" He demanded looking at me impatiently. Shit, I was busy checking him out. "What's your excuse because I'm dying to hear it right now."
I knew we were getting fired. I can't believe I was stupid enough to get myself into a situation like this. Losing this job would shatter my heart into a million pieces. I've been working at Parker Inc for over three years now and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. I've finally found a job that I love and enjoy. Now I'm gonna lose that because of my personal problems and wanting a day off.
