The food was all ready and in perfect time because that's when there was a knock on our door. Lucy was in the kitchen with me, getting out a bottle of wine from the cupboard. She went to open the door as I continued serving the Chicken Alfredo. Lucy made sure I was dressed to impress Nate. Sometimes I wish Lucy would just understand that I don't want to be with anyone and that I'm fine with it. She means well and I know she cares and just wants to see me happy, but there are times when I just need to do what I think is right for me even if I am wrong. I need to fall on my own so I can get back up stronger.
That being said, I was still kinda excited to see him. He's mysterious and alluring. Caleb walked in first holding a bottle of champagne, which means I guess we won't be needing our boring old wine. Behind him entered Nate looking sharp as ever. How did I not notice their resemblance? Nick does look a few years older but he's still damn hot.
"Hey lovely ladies," Caleb cheerfully greeted us, kissing his girlfriend on the lips which lead to them making out. Typical.
Nate shared the same look I did as we scrunched our noses simultaneously. "Seriously guys, not in front of us," Nate groaned, rolling his eyes as they ignored him and continued making out.
Giggling, I couldn't help but agree with him. "Oh believe me, I tell them all the time to use Lucy's room, but I think they don't even hear me,"
Nate's blue eyes were the prettiest thing to look. They were almost a sky blue colour. He looked devilishly handsome in his dark blue t-shirt and navy jeans. "They're crazy in love,"
"Indeed they are,"
We both turned to where the front door is to see them still making out. Dear god! Nate just laughed then turned back to face me. "Do you need any help in the kitchen? Maybe we should just ignore them," he suggested.
"Great idea," I said instantly. Nate helped me serve the plates on the dining table and all the cutlery and cups. He was someone who was easy to have a conversation with. Like it was all natural and I didn't feel nervous or have to try. Everything with him just flowed. I kinda liked it.
When Lucy and Caleb finally decided to join us, we all said grace and began eating and talking. I learned that Nate is a surgeon and his work requires him to travel due to different hospitals needing him. Lucy and Caleb kept talking to each other deliberately to get me and Nate to keep talking to each other. Nate must've realised too because he shook his head with a smirk on his face while looking at the two. Seriously, they're a perfect couple. Both so evil and cunning.
