Never had I felt so human. At least this is what I imagine feeling human as being. I have no memory of being human; just woke up alone on a beach one day, no Maker in sight and no apparent idea of who or what I was. Needless to say my introduction into the world of vampires was not a smooth one. It felt strange to be thinking about this now. Right now I was laid on the floor, most likely dying and of all the grand memories I've created over the years. I'm cursed to relive this one.

"Rebekah. Can you hear me?" Was that Kona? "Open your eyes woman." I could feel someone slapping my face gently but as they kept slapping the force behind the impact increased. "Goddamnit woman! Wake the hell up."

"If you would stop yammering for a moment I would be able to tell you that I am awake." My voice didn't sound like my own, "Is Timon okay? Where is he?" I looked around the room as sat up from the small cot. It was then I noticed the small rocking of the room, we were on boat.

"Calm down Rebekah you're safe here. We found you in that yard unconscious; you must have hit your head on the way down." As she said that I could feel the dull ache on the right side of my head. "I wouldn't think it would be so easy to take down a vampire." Her chuckle didn't reach her eyes.

"Where's Timon?" I watched her shoulders sagged, she had thought she successfully diverted my attention. "Kona, what is happening?"

"I'm not sure what happened. We had people follow Timon the entire way; we wouldn't have him go in alone. I knew how much it meant you to keep your word to him." She took a chair from across the room and placed it in front of me.

"What happened?" I left no room for argument I wanted to know what happened without any further delay.

"Timon is with them. Whether he always was or they won him over. I don't know. What I do know is that all this has pushed forward whatever plans they had."

"Impossible." I hadn't known Timon for long but I never once felt any animosity from him nor did I think he was so easy to betray us.

"I told you you never know what people are capable of. I was stupid to let my guard down with him because we were old friends. And I went and revealed we know about them and their plans, the spy in the Villa. We gave them everything on a silver platter. We lost before we even made our first move."

"We still have time..." I ran out above deck. I could hear thunder rolling into the distance, the air was heavy with the sea breeze but beneath I could smell the rain. The sun was still there but hidden behind the thick storm clouds. I wasn't sure how much time had passed but I knew it was long past noon. "What is the time?"

"It's a quarter to five." Kona answered from behind me. More than four hours, I was out for that long. "In the garden there was the strange growing weed everywhere. I thought it was strange how the growing of weeds looked so uniformed." My sniffling, the strong scent hadn't thought anything of it; a simple weed that can weakened us so.

"Masard. It's some kind of herb that does something to vampires."

"How do you know all this?"

"We got lucky. You weren't the only one we came back with." Kona led me down below into another room. In there I found a man tied to a chair, a bag covering his face. "He hasn't said much but I thought he might respond better to you." Kona took the bag away from his face; he was blooded to pulp but I could still recognised him from the Villa. A cook in the kitchen I believe. It was scary to think that these people were handling our food and drink this entire time and they had such a weapon at their disposable.

"From the looks of it I would say you've done quite a bit I'm not sure what else you want me to do?"

"Well I don't know you are a vampire that walks in the sun; I have no idea what else you are capable of." I expected this; frankly I am more surprised it wasn't the first question out of her mouth.
