The new goon provided by Jeremiah is very quiet. I have not been able to get him to speak a word, but I'd rather him be silent and do his job than not. I think I'll request he sticks around. A girl needs a strong silent guy to rely on, especially after the night I just had. Lesson number one learned tonight, don't let Sheamus or Jeremiah take me to a play again. Lesson two, avoid public settings at all cost. Then the most important lesson, swear off men for the rest of my life.
Anastasia stood patiently in the foyer of her father's house with Tiffani ready for the play. Jeremiah had shown up alongside her new bodyguard and insisted he had to talk to her father before she could leave. Anastasia had a sinking feeling that Jeremiah intended to crash her peaceful evening to the theater with his presence. Anastasia looked at her new bodyguard where he stood next to the front door. He was dressed in clean-cut evening attire with hair cut short and just as neat as his clothing. His face seemed to have been chiseled from stone giving it a lack of expression, but what stood apart from it all was his green eyes. While his body and features remained still his eyes were constantly moving from one place to another. His eyes only stilled when they crossed her path. There they paused watching her as she was watching him. "Sorry, I did not intend to stare." He inclined his head ever so briefly and then proceeded to search the room with his eyes. "He doesn't talk much, ya think?" Tiffani leaned close to Anastasia's ear as she whispered her words. Anastasia shrugged, "He who is wise, seldom talks." Tiffani cocked her head to the left and looked quizzically at her mistress. "Is that meant to mean that wise people understand they don't have to talk?" Anastasia nodded her head. Silence could very well just be how the man preferred to handle things. Miles had been more than willing to talk when it suited him, and that did not always work in her favor. Voices down the hall signaled that whatever Jeremiah had come to see her father about had finished. "Ah good, you have Tiffani ready for the play." Anastasia nodded. "We've been ready since Jeremiah arrived. Now seeing as you two have concluded your chat I would like to get on with my evening." Anastasia looped her arm with Tiffani's and proceeded toward the door, but before she could reach it her father cleared his throat. Anastasia paused mid-step before sighing. "The Magistrate will be escorting you tonight." Anastasia glared at her father. For years she'd been attending the plays in peace with Tiffani and she hadn't wanted this time to be different. Her father frowned at her. "It is for your own safety. The seclusion of our theater box would be a most dangerous place if you were not ensured the utmost protection." Anastasia's glare did not falter as she swept her gaze from her father to Jeremiah. "You should be glad you even get to go young lady." Anastasia stopped glaring and looked at her father. "Was there ever any doubt that I was not going?" This time Jeremiah spoke up. "I am against this whole ordeal. I do not feel that attending the theater is in your best interest." Anastasia looked between Jeremiah and her father and then understood. "Him attending is your compromise." Her father nodded his head at her words. "Very well then, we are running behind it is past time we depart." Anastasia turned to face the door with Tiffani at her side. Her new bodyguard did not hesitate, he stepped forward and held open the door for Anastasia. WIthout waiting for Jeremiah Anastasia left her father's foyer and walked to where her carriage waited. Tiffani having not linked arms with her mistress this time followed two steps behind Anastasia with Jeremiah and the new bodyguard trailing behind them.
The playhouse was alive and buzzing when their carriage pulled to a stop in front of the steps to enter. The beginning night was always the largest and by far the most elegant night for the playhouse. Women were dressed in high fashion and men followed suit. The playhouse was one of the few places that your rank did not matter. If you had the money for a seat you got a seat. Sometimes there was regular working folk that would save money as best possible to be able to reserve a box and receives all the amenities that went along with a box reservation. Anastasia had met many people this way and she found that each person she met gave her a new perspective to the world. Jeremiah was the first to exit the carriage followed by Neil, Anastasia's new bodyguard.
