Anakin had excused himself from the bridge only moments ago, and informed his admiral he was leaving the ship for a while. Now he was walking towards his personal shuttle. No one would dare question him leaving, so he did not have to worry about anyone seeing him. He flew the shuttle out of the hangar and set the coordinates. When he was in hyperspace, he switched his uniform for comfortable clothes and a dark brown cloak. He stowed away his mask and his lightsaber inside that cloak and went to the back of the shuttle.

Out of a hidden compartment, he pulled a metal cylinder. He gingerly settled it in his hand and ignited the saber. It had been a long time since he had seen the blue blade. He weaved it through the air, before stowing it with his other lightsaber, inside his cloak.

It didn't take too long to get to his destination and he quickly set the cloaking mechanism to activate as soon as he pulled out of hyperspace. He had equipped the shuttle with such a mechanism himself, it was quite useful and he made sure to keep exactly this shuttle.

He pulled out of hyperspace and unnoticed he made his way to the surface of Lothal.

After landing the ship behind one of the many rock formations, he climbed on top of one of the smaller rocks and looked towards the village. Then his eyes found a hut standing rather distant from the village, and he smiled as he noticed two small figures already running towards his rock formation.

"Anakin," Leia panted when they reached the foot of the rock.

"Hey, Leia, Luke," Anakin greeted. "I brought something for you today."

Anakin waved his lightsaber at them. That was enough motivation for the twins to quickly climb the rock and he waited until they had settled down in front of him.

"Is that...?" Luke asked mesmerised by the metal cylinder.

"It's a lightsaber, Luke," Leia said rolling her eyes, although Anakin could feel that she was just as excited. "Obi-Wan has one too you know."

"Yeah, but he never lets us touch it or ignite it, mostly not even look at it," Luke complained. Then he turned to Anakin. "Can we?"

"Go ahead," Anakin smiled at him. "But be careful."

Luke took the lightsaber in awe and inspected it. Leia moved closer and stared at the saber in fascination.

"Can we light it?" she pleaded.

"Just make sure to point it away from yourselves," Anakin said.

Luke turned the lightsaber up and after one look to Anakin, he ignited the blade. The twins stared at the saber and then at Anakin.

"Wow," Leia mumbled.

Anakin then held out his hand and turned the lightsaber off. He summoned it to him and floated it below his outstretched hand. He slowly opened the lightsaber until the crystal at its core could be seen. Anakin settled the pieces on the ground, only keeping the crystal in the air.

"This," he told them, "is a kyber crystal. There is one at the heart of each lightsaber, it is the thing the wielder connects with when they use the lightsaber."

"Will we get lightsabers too?" Luke asked.

"I am hoping that Obi-Wan will take you to find your crystals," Anakin said. "You see, no one can find your crystal for you, because it is your crystal and it calls to only you."

"And if Obi-Wan doesn't take us?" Luke asked.

"Then we can talk about it," Anakin said. "But if I take you to get your crystals, you won't be able to tell anyone about your lightsabers. If Obi-Wan doesn't take you before you turn thirteen, I'll think about it."
