The Escape

She started running like someone that escape from the ritualist dungeon, looking left and right as if they will appear again right behind her. Her heartbeat was faster than normal. She knows nowhere to go right from her childhood she has been her daddy's pet, she's always indoor. Even when she was writing her Jamb exams, her father will be outside the examination hall waiting for her. He doesn't joke with her as he always joke with his friends that she's the Apple of his eyes and they both laughed at him that he has overpampered her. Some even joked with him to marry his daughter instead as he has refused to remarry since the death of his late wife. But instead of him to be annoyed Adeoye will politely reply them in his mother tongue "E se oju kan epa oju kan ere ni" meaning: " Thank you, she's the only one I  have". He didn't allow her to go anywhere of her own neither did he send her on an errand.
So this has made her not to be going out or know anywhere within her vicinity. The only place she could go is her Uncle who happened to be her father's elder brother. Their parents gave birth to four sons Tinuola's father is the last child and their first child Adeakin who is the only survival of the family. Their second and third children were twins they died at their early age when there was a widespread disease that nearly killed all the children during that period. Their parents waited for years before they could give birth to Adeoye Tinuola's father making Adeakin to be twenty years older than Adeayo before he died at age sixty-two.
Adeakin heard a knock on his door and he was surprised and happy to see Tinuola " Oh! My daughter I'm so glad to see you. Where have you been since all these days? I've sent to you three times to call you so that you can move in with me. What have I done to you? Why are you trying to avoid me my daughter?"
Tinuola was confused with the numerous questions being thrown at her all she could say was "Uncle I'm sorry" Adeakin saw the way she was dirty and wounded and was surprised to ask " What happened to you along the way? Did you fall inside pit or did you fight someone on your way down here?"
She then started to explain how she escaped death from the four men that she suspected to have hand in the death of her father. She further explained how she met them on her father's farm and how she eavesdropped their conversation on how they are going to get ride of her and how they eventually came to their house to execute their mission. Adeakin was puzzled on hearing this because he seems not to understand. She explained further how she followed the back door and jumped over the fence to the next compound. By the time she will finish up her long story the old man has already slept off.
She hissed, took her bag into the guess room before entering bathroom to take a shower. After she has dressed up and applied some little make up and put on a sleeveless top with a bumper short, she walks towards the standing mirror twisted her waist and said " wow! Tinu you're looking gorgeous" while enjoying the happy moments she felt a hand touched her from behind and the old man said " don't be overjoyous for your beauty one day beauty will fade, thence your success will beautify you". Take your bag and follow me I've prepared a suitable place for you and remind me tomorrow we need to go somewhere" . She felt embarrassed and followed the old man like bumper-to-bumper.
