Chapter Seven

Chapter Seven

"I can't believe you're leaving." My aunty says as she squeezes me in a tight hug. This is the aunty who took me in after my mum died, she gave me a job, gave me food and a roof to live under until I was able to stand on my own two feet. I'm so grateful for her, if it wasn't for her i wouldn't be here now, $80 million dollars richer and running away to America to fulfill my dreams.

If it wasn't for her, I would be stuck at home sulking, not doing anything except eating and sleeping. Quite a boring life to live compared to the one im living right now.

"I can't believe it either," I mumble and she lets me go. She looks towards Darrell and introduces herself, "Hiya, I'm Anna, Bella's aunty." She holds out her hand and he shakes it, "Hello Anna, I'm Darrell."

"So, you're going with her?" she asks him and he nods while grinning boyishly.

I giggle, "We really have to go but ill call you when we settle in. Might be a couple of days before you hear from me."

Her eyes widen, "Oh, but you just got here." She whines, obviously not wanting US to leave just yet.

I give her a small sympathetic smile, I know she will miss me as I will miss her too. She will now be on her own for the first time since her sister, my mum died and she will have to go through everything alone. Its not like she can talk to her son, I mean he's a bastard. Spoilt little brat.

He doesn't know nor respect what he's got, and it really annoys me how ungrateful he is towards his mother. He's lucky he's still got a mother. I would give anything to have my mum back.

He just doesn't understand, although he is only thirteen. That still is no excuse.

"I'm sorry, ill call you in a couple of days and sort out with Cole his skype account so I can show you my place." I grin, all of a sudden feeling a burst of excitement. Aunt Anna breaks out in a grin, and hugs me, "I love you, thank you so much for being here. Ill miss you." She says as she give me a big hug goodbye,

She reluctantly pulls away and turns to Darrell and gives him a pat on the shoulder, she is not that kind of person to show any kind of affection to strangers. "Look after my niece will ya!" She says and he nods, "Of course!"

"Bye, have a safe trip." She says as we leave, "You're auntys cool," Darrell says as we get into his truck again. One last stop before we hit the road. My grandparents.

We drive out to the neighbouring town that's placed along the next beach. Its a ten minute drive through the country side.

We pull up to my grandparents house, and I sigh. All the memories of out christmas parties. With mum chasing me around to wipe me face because I stuffed it with chocolate when I was little, and all my cousins and I started a tradition of Blinds Man's Bluff. We would always sit together during dinner, the whole family in the same big room. Now, that equals a very noisy house.

We exit the car and head to the front door, I hear Darrell let out a big breath and o chuckle, "Relax will ya," I say to him before opening the door.

"Grandma? Grandad?" I yell out and I hear grandad yell back from downstairs.

I grab Darrells hand and pull him downstairs, we walk into his office and I smile, "Hey grandad, what are ya doing?" I ask him as I sit down on the chair that's next to his, he looks at me and smiles, but it doesn't reach his eyes. "Hi Bella! Just doing the book I do for a couple I just married."

My grandads a celebrant, he marries people and most people have their wedding at their house because it is so beautiful!

"Well, we just thought we would stop in and say goodbye before heading to the airport." I say and grandad turns to me smiling, only this time, it does reach hos eyes. I see a sparkle in them, and I'm glad that he's happy even if its just for this moment.

"I'm so proud of you Bell, your getting to live your dream! I'm so very, very proud of you!" he gushes and pulls me in for a hug.

"Oh, we have a guest, hello Darrell." My grandad says as he acknowledges Darrell,

"Hello sir, nice to see you again." Darrell says as they shake hands, my eyes widen. "Wait! You know eachother?" I ask and they both nod.

"I've known his mother for twenty years, and I've known Darrell his whole life." Grandad says and my mouth drops into an 'O' shape.

"Look after Bell won't ya" Grandad says, and Darrell rolls his eyes, "I've been told this before, but don't you worry. She's in good hands." He says as he winks at me. A blush creeps up onto my cheeks and I look away.

"Alright, he really have to get going. Ill miss you grandad!" I say and he hug again. He stands up and hugs Darrell and we leave.

I didn't know leaving everyone behind to fulfill my dream would hurt so much, a tear escapes and Darrell's hand rubs my thigh, "Don't worry baby girl, were going to have so much fun." he says encouragely. I smile but I dont mean it.

Time to say goodbye to my home. For good.
