Rain
It was a dark night, this night in particular felt long and lonely. Time felt slow, especially to a girl who thought it had gone even slower just to annoy her. She was at home gazing at her small pink plastic clock on the newly painted white wall. Wishing for the morning to come.
The sound of rain drops filled the girl's head. Her thoughts stopped and everything became silent. The kind of silence that means something is missing.....not the relaxing kind.
With her, she hears that kind of silence each day, hour and minute.
It's something she's gotten used to.
The splatters and splooshing of rain continued as it fell even more fiercely than minutes before. It beat violently against the tarmac cleansing the dirt and dust maybe even attempting to clean the girl's heart and soul as well.Rain...She always thought it was a way of cleaning and sometimes even a healing mechanism for the mind, soul, heart and maybe for the earth too.
Obviously the girl was aware that it was not raining everywhere, maybe just where she resided, but it really did feel to her like there was a never-ending flood in her heart, mind and soul. At some point she wondered if others felt this rejuvenating flood of rain too. The type of deep internal flood that makes everyone calmer and at ease. It was perhaps one if the reasons she loved spring and rain so badly. She honesty believed that it was a way for the world to refresh and start again in a whole new light.
Like a rainbow after a windy storm.
Maybe it was just the girl that thought that peculiar way, that was fine by her. She thought to herself that she related more to the rain than the sun.She looked to the sky a midnight blue shade the rain was finally ceasing and she spotted the moon which illuminated her large smooth violet bed with gold decorations. She stared at the moon as if looking for answers to her life, like why she felt alone even with others surrounding her, and how much longer it would be until she'd find out what was missing in her life. She asked the moon
"If you have secrets, if the rain truly does clean the impurities of humans and leaves peace you would tell me right?
She smiled and walked around her room in a restless manner. She's a broken girl, who always felt alone and wanted her emptiness to be replaced with love. She didn't know what was missing....or that a boy was indeed a broken boy too and was looking outside of a tall glass window watching the same the silver moon that the girl had seen.
He thought to himself about what his Dad had once told him when he was a child. "My son, Remember whenever you look at the moon somewhere else someone is looking at it too." He laid back on the hard mattress not being able to fall asleep, his mind slowly wandered and his thoughts accumulated. "Why remember Dad? What does the future hold? The sun's always been more interesting and gorgeous to me so why look towards the moon? I just wish you were here...." his voice was quiet and slow when he talked. Maybe something might be special about the moon. He wondered if there's really someone looking at the same moon at this moment, and if that person might be going through the same thing he is going through...A/N :
