It had been two weeks since Troye's eighteenth birthday. That meant that he was eighteen years and two weeks old. That also meant that he had Strawberry for two weeks. But more importantly it meant that he had been with Jacob for two weeks. He had not seen his teddy for two weeks, so he had not slept well for two weeks. He had not seen his family or Jagga for two weeks. The list went on.
After being at the house for two weeks, it was starting to feel a bit better. More home-like. Jacob had not blown up on him aside from that one time, and now he was being super sweet. He went out and bought Strawberry a bunch of toys and treats, along with some chocolate and new clothes for Troye. The clothes were not what Troye would chose if it was him going shopping, but he did not complain. They were cute anyways; mostly all of them being flowy sundresses. Troye had gotten used to dressing the way Jacob wanted him to without getting upset, even though he did not like how hard it was to play in the dresses without them riding up.
Troye was sat on the floor playing with his little kitten. She was starting to learn how to fetch, which was funny seeing as she was a cat, but it was one of her favourite things to do. She was not very good at bringing the toys back yet, but it was still amusing. Eventually he got bored of that, though. Jacob was not at the house, seeing as he had a meeting to attend. Jacob had not been around the house as often anymore. He was still there at least once a day, but not all day. Troye was getting used to entertaining himself, even if he would much rather have someone to play with.
Troye stood up and walked to the window, looking out. It was nice and sunny with a light breeze, a nice change from the gloomy, grey weather that had been consistent for the past week. "I'm going outside," Troye said to Strawberry, making sure she was going to be okay in the house without him. She was taking a nap at the moment and she had toys for when she woke up, so she would probably be okay if she was left unsupervised for an hour or so.
The small boy pattered over to the door, slipping on his flip flops before opening it. He wandered out into the grass, taking a couple of moments to appreciate the sunshine on his face before he continued to the barns. The barns were his favourite place to play. He could play in the sand, like a giant sandbox, or skip in and out of the stalls pretending to be a pony or pretending to have one. He was good and stayed out of the loft like Jacob had told him to, even if he wanted to go up and adventure. He had climbed the ladder and peered around, but it had unfortunately been too dark to actually see what was up there.
Troye made his way into the barn, sitting down on the sandy floor. He had an entire village at that point - complete with a river dug through it and little roads winding around the sand-mound houses. Troye had asked Jacob for some toys such as tiny people and cars, but he had not gotten them yet. He finger-walked through his town, giggling and making up character voices as he went.
After about an hour had passed, Troye noticed that it was starting to get darker outside. As much as he wanted to continue playing, he did not want to have to run through the dark by himself. He stood up and brushed the majority of the sand off of him knees and dress and started to skip back down to the house. Right as he stepped into the backyard he heard tires on the gravel. His eyes lit up and he started to run across the grass, stopping only when he reached the edge of the house. He watched Jacob's black car roll in and stop, the lights going off as the engine stopped. Troye stood where he was and watched the door open and Jacob step out. "Hi!" he called, smiling and waving. Jacob simply nodded in reply, shutting the door and opening the back one. He pulled out a black bag and locked the car before walking over and actually greeting Troye.
"Were you good today?" Jacob asked, pulling the boy into a one-armed hug.
"Mhm," Troye hummed. "Did you bring snacks?"
