Party's Over

Spilled drinks drenched the hard wood floors, while empty pizza boxes littered the rooms along with hung over teenagers who admitted defeat to their ideas of pretending they were fine to drive or do extracurricular activities.

Cheryl, who had stumbled up to her bedroom and crashed the night before, groaned and opened her dark brown eyes to the new day that lay before her.

She realized she was still in her party outfit which led her to remember the event that had taken place the night prior. She frowned, dreading the extreme cleaning that had to take place today.

Cheryl slowly got out of bed and slipped on her silk robe, tying it around her waist and heading downstairs to observe the after party scene.

A few teenagers still lingered around the house, either getting up to leave or still sleeping soundly in random places of the mansion.

Cheryl began scoping out all the rooms to check where people still were so she could kick them out; the party was over, and the luxuries of Thistlehouse now belonged solely to her.

She discovered teenagers half naked in guest rooms, some laying completely nude in the gardens; even one was found sleeping in a shining bathtub that now reeked of beer.

Once most of the house was cleared of dazed and confused teenagers, Cheryl decided to relax in one of the sitting rooms while drinking a cup of coffee.

As she walked to the room, she couldn't help but remember Billy, the boy who had shown up at her party uninvited.

"I wonder what happened to him last night..."
She thought curiously.

She turned the knob to the sitting room and entered, unaware of the sight that would fill her vision.

Archie, Reggie, Moose, and Billy passed out in the sitting room, liquor bottles splayed out on the patterned rug.

"Sorry to interrupt your slumber but the party is over!" Cheryl shouted, startling Moose so much that he fell off the couch.

"Sorry Cheryl, we uh lost track of time," Archie said, rubbing his eyes.

Billy ran his fingers through his hair and yawned, bags under his eyes.

"Come on guys let's go," Reggie said, stumbling up from the recliner he fell asleep in.

Moose scrambled up off the floor and followed Archie and Reggie out of the room.

Billy still sat on the velvet couch, in a white t-shirt, his denim jacket off, revealing his arm muscles.

Cheryl gazed at him for a few seconds, then snapped out of it saying,

"Hey Patrick Swayze! Are you deaf? I said the party's over."

He turned back and looked at her.

"Is that so?"

"As a matter of fact, yes it is," Cheryl countered.

He grit his teeth and stood up, slowly walking up to Cheryl while slipping on his denim jacket.

She had her arms crossed, standing her ground, even though her heartbeat was picking up rapidly.

He stood in front of her, fairly close to her face and muttered,

"The party never even started."

"What's that supposed to mean, bozo?" Cheryl questioned.

"I just, you know, expected a good party from a rich girl like yourself."

"Well I'm sorry that we didn't do a keg stand and watch The Breakfast Club."

He grinned sarcastically then said,

"Coming from someone who just called me a 'bozo' I'm surprised."

She opened her mouth to say something but he cut her off saying,

"Goodbye Cheryl."

He looked at her for a minute before exiting the sitting room, leaving Cheryl to replay their moment together over and over again, for some reason not being able to forget about it.

                                       .  .  .

"So who was that hottie at the party last night?" Josie asked Cheryl as they drank their milkshakes at the Pops.

"His name is Billy- Billy Hargrove, he's not from here," Cheryl answered, looking down at the table while sipping her strawberry milkshake.

"Well obviously he's not from here! All the girls would've already taken him," Josie commented, biting a French fry.

"Lucky them," Cheryl mumbled, taking one of Josie's fries.

"Hey! Hands off!" Josie said, playfully slapping Cheryl's hand away.

They both chuckled when the doors to Pops opened, revealing a certain boy with a certain lightning bolt earring.

"That's him!" Josie whispered to Cheryl.

"Whoopee!" Cheryl said sarcastically.

"Well, well, well," an approaching voice said, "Is it not the teen idle Cheryl Blossom."

"What do you want Billy," Cheryl asked flatly.

He took the strawberry from her milkshake and bit a piece off, looking at Cheryl wordlessly.

Cheryl let out a frustrated sigh and crossed her arms, while Josie, intrigued, ate her fries quickly.

"I want to take you on a ride," he finally said.

"In what? You're Yugo GV?" She laughed mockingly, "Sorry but I don't want to be stuck on the side of the road."

"No," Billy began, "In my Blue Camaro."

Cheryl stopped before putting her mouth on her milkshake straw.

"But if that's not up to your standards..." Billy started to turn away.

"On the other hand," Cheryl grabbed her purse, "I think I'll be able to finish this milkshake in the car."

Billy smiled slyly, as Cheryl walked ahead of him out to his car.
