"You're gonna have to wear some of my clothes I guess," Archie stated, opening his closet doors to reveal an endless array of solid colored cardigans and crew necks.
Everything completely different from Billy's style.
"Why can't I just wear what I've been wearing?" Billy asked.
Archie observed Billy then replied,
"Well you've been wearing it since you got here..."
"Ah," Billy responded flatly, unexcited to become the second boy next door of Riverdale.
Billy picked a gray and sage green baseball t-shirt and blue jeans.
After taking a shower and getting dressed in Archie's clothes, he began to smell the scent of pancakes, bacon, and eggs.
When he walked downstairs he saw Archie sitting on a stool in the kitchen and a man with a beard serving him a plate of food.
At first Billy just stood at the bottom of the stairs, not knowing if he should enter or not, but Archie noticed him and said,
"Oh, Dad, there's someone I want you to meet."
He motioned for Billy to come closer, and when he was next to him, Archie pronounced,
"Dad, this is Billy Hargrove. He's new to Riverdale and needed somewhere to stay until he figured out a plan for himself. It's alright if he stays with us for a little while right?"
Trying to comprehend the unexpected news, Mr. Andrews stood slightly stupefied for a few seconds until replying,
"Why of course he can stay here," He looked at Billy, "Make yourself at home Billy."
"Thank you Mr. Andrews, I should be out of your way in no time."
"No worries," Mr. Andrews assured, "You're welcome for as long as you need a place to stay."
Billy nodded and took a seat next to Archie where they ate their breakfast and cleaned their plates in minutes.
"See you later Dad!" Archie called as Billy and him left for Riverdale High.
When they arrived to the school Billy couldn't believe how much bigger it was than the one in Indiana.
"Don't worry," Archie told him, "Just stick with me and everything will be fine."
Their first class was English and all Billy could think about was Cheryl. How much he wanted to see her again and be alone with her.
The next couple classes were a blur since Billy didn't pay attention in any of them, but he continued to be guided by Archie through the blue locker lined halls.
"Hey Billy wake up."
Archie was nudging him.
"Oh sorry man," He responded.
"No it's fine, I don't blame you. Geometry sucks. But it's free period now so we can go chill out."
As they walked down the hall Billy asked where they were going.
"There's a pretty nice lounge where we always hang out."
"Who's 'we'?"
Archie looked to him,
"You'll meet them soon enough."
A part of him hoped Cheryl would be included in his friend group, but she didn't seem like the type to hang out with Archie.
They entered the yellow painted room covered in posters and immediately he recognized Veronica, Archie's girlfriend he had met the day before.
"Why hello there Archiekins!" She greeted, then identified Billy and said, "Billy! I didn't know you were coming to school today."
"Yeah well Archie suggested it and I decided it couldn't hurt so..."
"Wise decision. We all want to meet you."
"Who else is there to meet?" Billy asked.
"Well Jughead is in a serpent meeting right now but there's still-"
A girl with blonde hair in a high ponytail appeared in a gray and white collared sweater next to Veronica.
"Betty Cooper," Veronica finished.
Betty looked to Billy and drowned his emotions in her ocean eyes in one single glance.
For he thought she was beautiful.
