So... hi, I guess. As you have probably already guessed, my name is Kat and until now I have been living in... well, living everywhere. See, my family goes on a lot of holidays. And that's all. My life isn't very interesting other than that. Nope, no interesting parts of life here. You can just go ahead and close the story.

Ok, I quit. If you're reading this you've already got Level 4 Clearance or above and know everything that I know and possibly more so I'm cutting all this crap introductions as civilians and stuff and getting on to the important stuff like; Hi, I'm Kat. My parents work for MI6 I think but are in really deep cover as civilians and next to no one knows where they are or, heck, even if they are alive. They have swapped their names and appearances, constantly, not even I know their real names, and I'm their child. As in, live with them, move with them, sometimes attempt to eavesdrop on them (I said attempt). Mum always just winks in my direction and changes the subject as soon as I get within earshot. Like, deep cover or what?

So yeah, to the world I'm a civilian child who has semi-rich parents that can afford a holiday every other month. I also am home-schooled by mum, but it's a different type of home-school. But this Semester, I am going to Gallagher Academy for Exceptional Young Women. I'm starting as a sophomore though but I don't really care. My mum was a Gallagher Girl and she's told me all there is to know about the school, in different languages to prevent eavesdroppers of course, keeping me up to date with things I must know to go to an advanced school like that.

Yes, by 'like that' I mean a very exceptional, beautiful all girl school.... for spies. Still run by Rachel Morgan. CoveOps teacher- Joseph Solomon. Etiquette classes by Ms Dabney. And no, I've never been there. So, have I convinced you that I'll fit in at a spy school? No? how about this. When I was 10 years old, I ran into some man on the street. He asked me if I want candy. I could read his intentions just by looking him in the eye and sidestepped him when he tried to grab my wrist. Long story short, he was anonymously handed in to the police the next day. Wanted for like 3 years. So yeah, I like to think that Gallagher Academy is a good place as any to grow up and go to school.

Yes, I know and yes, this is the first year I applied and I got accepted. Yeah, I'm great. But anyway, back to Gallagher. My mum was there and she knows Headmistress Morgan but since she is in deep cover, no one can know who she is or where she is so she sent in an anonymous letter saying that I should be accepted. My mum rocks, but I can't mention her a lot in this as her cover might be compromised. Little too late, isn't it? Whoops. No one speak of this.

So, how have I prepared for a spy school without going to the spy school? Easy, mum taught me. She says I've got the natural art of blending in. She said her best friend at Gallagher had the same. It's called a Pavement Artist, and she's also taught me how to get around the school- heaps of secret passageways she knows and all the staff and faculty to recognise on sight and how to memorise numbers and things, so I think I'm prepared. We've run a few things that mum said were on amateurs so I have experience tailing and mum taught me how to spot a tail. Yeah, yeah, the general rule: "Once a stranger, twice a coincidence, three times a tail." And I check wherever I go because if I'm being followed, then mum might be too and that means serious trouble.

And this is a bit of a journal-semi-CoveOps report thing so that I can practice paper work.

Oh, and one more thing. I'm a sleight of hand magician- self-taught. My best trick is to swap something for something else, seemingly making something disappear. People get so confused. It's great. Like, you're holding a ball, haha, no it could be a bomb if you aren't careful.

(So I have been planning this book for a while and it will definitely have longer chapters and possibly more organised updates than my other book which is absolute schist so maybe don't go and read that one. This one will be better I promise.)
