"How many fingers am I holding up Karen?" A doctor asked standing in front of me.
I shook my head and laughed. "Fuck you." I spat and she shook her head.
"I'm trying to help you but you just need to cooperate dear."
"Where's my no good mother? Is she actually paying for this bullshit? They killed my father."
"Your father left." The doctor said walking around the bed to be at my side. "He left because he couldn't deal with being a father."
"And you all of a sudden know about my family!" I yelled. "I read the newspaper article doc. My father Paul was killed and the murderer is still out there. His murderer is probably my tormentor!"
"Don't think that way Karen. Slenderman does not exist and everything you've seen you have made up."
"I didn't make all of it up, hell I didn't make any of it up! You're holding me here for no reason. You should throw my mom in one of these! I shouldn't be here and you have no right to hold me here!"
"Only for the night." The doctor said before walking out on me.
I scoffed and sat up in the stupid bed hearing the door make a click. She locked it.
"You can't keep me here! I'm not crazy!" I yelled out but got no response. So I fell back in the bed and decided to just go to sleep.
Wake up...
My eyes fluttered open and saw that all the lights were off. Even in the hallways there seemed to be endless darkness.
I sat up in the bed and wiped my eyes before going to stand up.
"You can't do this!!" A male voice yelled making me jump a little.
"What makes you think I can't? I love her more than you do and I will do anything to make her mine and only mine!" Another male voice chimed in making me look towards the door. "She doesn't want to be with you. She told me to do this."
I walked towards the door hearing the other male scream out in agony before his scream was muffled.
I opened the door and saw nothing, no one was out there.
"Those are my kids...let me say goodbye to my baby girl." The guy said weakly. "Please. Please. Please!" The last please came out as a scream and I turned to look down the empty hallway feeling my heart pound in my chest.
I went to walk down the hall holding myself tightly knowing what I was going to see.
"You'll never say goodbye. You'll never talk again."
I looked around the corner and saw no one but when I turned around, someone grabbed me. I tried to scream but their hand went over my mouth.
"Shh. It's me." I opened my eyes and saw that it was Adrian. "sorry to scare you. Where were you going?" He said dropping his hand from my mouth.
"I heard someone out here so I walked out. What are you doing here?" I asked backing up a bit and looking him up.
"I came to get you. I missed you and I thought you might not be having as much fun being locked up if I'm not there."
I smiled then hit him playfully in the arm. "How'd you managed to break in here is beyond me."
He stepped towards me smiling. "I have my ways of breaking in." He said biting his lip.
"You're such a nerd." I said shaking my head and he leaned down and kissed me laughing. I kissed him back bringing my hand up to his face and then letting my fingers get tangled in his hair.
"Do you want to get our of here or what?" He asked breaking away a little.
"And go where?"
"We can go back to my place and sleep."
I laughed and looked up into his eyes. "Just sleep?"
"What else could we do besides sleep Karen? I don't think your brain could do more than that tonight. Come on." He took my hand and pulled me with him to the exit. Instead of going there we made a left to this window.
"Adrian we're on the third floor!" I kind of whispered and yelled to him hoping he knew that.
"Just trust me." He said climbing up and then jumping out I gasped when he did making him laugh. "Give me a second and I'll tell you when I got to the ground."
"Adrian be careful!"
"I'm at the ground. You be careful now! Don't look down."
I took a deep breath then climbed up to the window immediately being hit with the cold night air. Without even thinking I looked down and saw Adrian. Everything got blurry after that and I felt like I was about the throw up. Being up really high always made me feel queasy.. I was afraid of heights and afraid that right now I was about to fall to my death.
I held onto the window shaking my head and closing my eyes.
"Karen you can do it!" Adrian yelled up at me and I kept shaking my head.
"I can't. I'm going to go back ins-" before I could even finish the window slammed on my fingers making me lose the only grip I had.
"Karen!!"
My arms fell behind me and I was falling with nothing to latch on to. I couldn't even scream because the wind held it back.
For one minute everything went quiet.. I was falling but I seemed to be falling in slow motion. I turned my head and saw him standing there in the trees with his head cocked to the side as usual. He was watching me fall..watching me thrash around and grab the wind for support..
Always by your side. Always watching. Never leaving you alone..
I looked back towards the sky and everything seemed to go back to normal but I was falling faster now and getting closer towards the ground... Closer to my death.
