"Morning Cassi....."
"Before you say anything Tristan, I just wanted to say I'm sorry. The truth is the reason I was so hesitant is that yes, I like you, I like you A LOT, but I am afraid to like or even love a person after what happened to me. Do you know why your parents arranged a marriage for you and I?"
"Um, No?"
"They arranged it, certainly not for your benefit but for my family's. The reason was because your mom, my mom's friend...found out that my ex-stepfather was beating us (Drake, Mum, and I). At first he was all nice, and for the first time since my dad died I love him like a father. Then one day I walked in on him beating my mom, I could see the intent for murder in his eyes so I distracted him...in return I got this....and my brother moved out."
After I finished speaking I turned around lifted up my tank top to show him the jagged X scar on my lower back.
"You see Tristan....I don't want to trust a person with my heart again to having it ripped out and stomped on....I just won't be able to handle it."
Present...Tristan's POV:
When she showed me the scar, I couldn't believe the amount of rage that flowed throughout my body. I wanted to find that bastard and inflict 10 times worse pain on him.
As I forced myself to control my rage...I slowly grounded out, "Cassi...I swear to god...if I ever see that man again....he'd better hope the police already have him...because I'm going to put him through so much pain...he will believe that I'm the fucking DEVIL!"
Cassi laid a hand on my shoulder and said, "Calm down...nothing's going to happen...and I will tell you if I ever see him near where I am."
I took a deep breath to calm myself and enveloped her in a hug when my door opened and both our moms walked in.
"Aww Sheri look at the cute couples...they remind me of Jason and I when we were teens!"
[A/N: Sheri=Cassi's mom...Jewel=Tristan's mom....Jason-Tristan's dad]
"Well time for you guys to get ready for school."
I planted a soft kiss on her forehead and left to take a shower and get ready for school. After I took a shower I threw on a pair of black skinnies, Nike high tops, and black and grey striped polo.
Cassi POV:
After I took a shower I put on my denim shorts, my navy blue tunic with a stud belt, and a pair of gladiator flats. I grabbed my book bag, I-Pod, and cell phone and ran down the stairs. I grabbed a monster, an apple, and ran out the door to meet Tristan at his car. As soon as we arrived at the school....my heart started to race and I began to panic. I'm guessing Tristan noticed my discomfort because as we got out of the car he put his hand around my waist pulling me into him.
