PROLOGUE: The Beginning of the End

Chaewon sat quietly under her tree, drawing a crow she saw up in a tree. She'd never understood why the crow had always intrigued her to the point where she'd drawn it, but nature had always been mysterious and lured her in--this instance was no different. She watched as all the other kids played while she remained solitary underneath the tree which dimmed her figure. Chaewon was always quiet and didn't have many friends, therefore she always depended on nature and drawing to keep her entertained.

She watched a couple of boys playing tag. "One of them is going to trip, watch!" Chaewon thought to herself.

Then, as if she had told the future, one of the boys tripped. A boy named Kim Taehyung, a boy she'd been going to school with for the past 5 years. He was quite an eccentric individual whose presence always turned every situation into one which had always turned playful. She couldn't understand how he had the capability to do such a thing as Chaewon herself was merely an introvert who spent her days with art. Chaewon gets up and pulls a bandage out of her pocket. She walks toward the fallen boy and gives him the bandage. Chaewon stares into the eyes of the bewildered boy, feeling as if something indistinguishable had bee--

Just then, she noticed a girl fall too. Chaewon walked over and helped her onto a nearby bench. This girl's name was Park Minseo. She too had been going to school with Chaewon for the past 5 years. A very sporty girl she was; she liked to break female stereotypes also by playing basketball with the boys often. Content with being a good child, Chaewon walked back into the shadow of her tree and continued to draw her fascinating crow.

Little did she know that meeting him was her first mistake out of many.
