They woke the next morning, dressed for the day and ordered breakfast. While they were eating breakfast, Tommy asked, "My dad's birthday dinner is Saturday night...Would you come with me? You already know my sister, plus Ollie and Nigel will be there, as will their sisters, whom you already met. Plus, their parents and their kids will be there. We are kind of a wild bunch, but I think you would have fun. Will you come with me?"
"Are you sure that I won't be imposing? Will anyone mind that a stranger will be there?"
"My mum said she would love to have you join us."
"If you are sure, then I would love to go. Thank you!"
She kissed his cheek as she put her dishes back on the tray, "Would you be willing to spend the weekend at my place?"
She looked at him and thought that it wasn't fair that he would be living out of bags all the time and agreed to go to his place. They would leave Friday after filming. They checked the time and he thought they better leave and headed out. They arrived at the lot to a frenzy of activity and knew he better get in make-up and wardrobe and off he went. She quickly took her seat and opened her bags and got out what she needed. A few minutes later the bell rang and the filming started.
They went at a demanding pace all week long. They started bright and early at 7:30 and hardly ever finished before 9. Everyone handled the pace pretty well the first few days, but by Wednesday night, everyone was dragging. Tommy and Ali made it back to the hotel late every night and just fell into bed, instantly asleep. They set the alarm for the last possible second so they got as much sleep as they could. They couldn't wait for the weekend. Elliot said they were almost caught up on the schedule and could go back to their regular schedule and have weekend off. Everyone was crossing fingers that he was going to hold to that promise. Thursday was grueling and Tommy had several physical scenes, including a realistic fight scene. That was hard to Ali to watch, ever though she knew it was fake.
'Damn,' she thought to herself, 'I am falling for him hard! I am getting upset to see him fake punched!'
CoCo saw her reaction and knew she was falling for him, but being so busy she hadn't had a chance to really talk to her best friend about it. She was going to call her this weekend and feel this out. She liked them together. She thought they were good for each other and just what the other one need.
She was rubbing her neck and saw that it was 8:50 and Elliot wanted this last scene for the night, but it was going to go long. She sighed as Elliot called a reset and another take. The makeup people came in and touched up everything and the bell sounded to go again. After 2 more resets, Elliot was finally satisfied and called it a day.
Tommy quickly changed and grabbed Alison and they practically ran off the lot. He let her drive some and she drove back to the hotel that night. The valet took the sleek SUV, and they went upstairs. They showered together and climbed into bed. They hadn't been together since the weekend; the days were just too long and they were too tired. He rubbed her hair as she lay on his chest to go to sleep and promised to make it up to her. They hadn't done anything all week. She yawned, promised him she didn't mind and told him good night. He kissed the top of her head, and they both were in a deep sleep.
Friday started the same and they arrived at the lot, with him going to wardrobe and going to the chairs. They started the filming and got two scenes done by 11. Elliot and CoCo were in a great mood because of it. Ali was getting some water and a banana when Elliot called her over. Two gentleman dressed in nice suits where talking to him and CoCo. She came over and introduced her best friend to William Blont and Greg Atkins, the Vice Presidents in charge of production for the studio and they asked if they could meet with her in the little conference room over to the side. She agreed and she followed them in the room. Ollie and Nigel saw her go with the two executives and went to tell Tommy what they saw. The three of them asked CoCo what was going on, and she told them the truth, that she had no idea. So they all waited.
