A One in a Million Love

Chapter 76

The next weeks were filled with packing and working. Ali finished up a few rewrites and a script while Tommy went to the new house every day to help work, even Saturdays. They only time he really rested was Sundays before they went to family dinners. When she would complain about him working so hard and long, he would kiss her forehead and tell her that he could rest once they moved.

They also did a few interviews with magazines after their big wins, talking about their baby and their marriage and their life. They actually had some great conversations without giving away too many secrets. The photos that they took at the interviews were really good and Ali actually framed a couple to put up in their new house.

The first weekend in March, Sonja and Sylvie threw Ali a baby shower. They invited all the family, lots of family friends and some of the new friends that Ali had made. That included Megan, the young woman that Nigel had been dating. Their relationship was going really well and she thought they made a wonderful couple and were good for each other.

Ali and Tommy were given so many wonderful things; blankets and toys, clothes and accessories, with CoCo going crazy, getting tons of items off the registry. She was so touched and cried at the end of the party. She loved her new family and new life and wouldn't change a second of the last year and several months. Sonja helped her get all the new items home for Tommy to see. He texted and said he would home late; they were finishing up staining the floors on the second floor. She waited up to show him and even he was impressed by the gifts they received.

In the next two weeks, they workers ramped up their work to get it finished in time. The house was finished by the third week of March and they were finally moving in three days. Tommy made it perfectly clear that she was to not tough a single box and let the movers or their family do it all. If she didn't keep her hands to herself, she was going to be banished to his parents' house. She rolled her eyes and promised him.

She was so excited when she woke up on moving day. Tommy had filled her car with the new baby stuff and said she could start getting the nursery ready as soon as she got there. They had went out and bought the furniture a week before and had it delivered to the new house. She loved the light stained wood they picked. It made the room look bigger and blended with the yellow walls and light wood trim they had put in. The dresser, changing table and crib had been delivered while Nigel was there yesterday and said everything looked good. Ali would head over to the house right after her check up with the doctor. She was 36 weeks and she could go into labor at any time. She kissed her husband goodbye as they were loading the moving truck and headed out to the office.
