Chp.14 Bring it On.

I finished getting dressed after a long steamy shower, staring into the mirror, I tried to gather enough will-power to step outside that door. Knowing that Castiel was in 'love' with me, I got a bad taste in my mouth in reaction to the word's strength. I didn't think i could look him in the eyes.. I sighed and ruffled my hair, "Oh'Kay Ava, get it over with.." I muttered to myself with discipline. I walked up to the door and opened it slowly, peering outside I could see Castiel at his desk, scribbling away. I opened the door fully and crept halfway across the room towards the door, "Hey Castiel," I started shakily, 

"Oh, hey, didn't hear you come out." he said looking up, seeing me he saw something that made him troubled, "What's the matter?" he said, standing up and coming closer, 

"N-nothing!" I stuttered, backing towards the door, "I'm just going to go with Ecanus to see the wizard's and shifter's training. Yeah. So. Bye!" I rushed, slamming the door behind me. I sighed feeling guilty, that was no way to treat him.. 

"Hey there Princess," Ecanus chuckled, "You wanted to go see the wizards and shifters?" 

"Yes!" I said suddenly, "Lets go. Right now!" I said grabbing Ecanus and running out the door, "C'mon angel-face!" I said, 

"Yeah ok!" he said slowing me down to lock the door, "Just a sec, Oh'kay?"  

I was in a rush to get out of here and to clear my mind, so as soon as he was done, I teased out my wings and practically dragged him out the window. 

"Woah! Ava calm down!" he shouted as he quickly teased his wings out and flapped to get in the air before he plummeted to the ground, "Alright little missy, follow me and please calm down.." he said tapping my forehead with the tip of his wing.

We flew further towards the main building of the school, where we had seen the fields and stone circles with different carvings on them. Only instead of being vacant, today they buzzed with wizards. Then looking over by the forest at a smaller field, I saw a group of people surrounding one person who changed shape as I watched. Ecanus started to descend out of the clouds towards one of the stone circles, where I saw Vince battling with some wizard I didn't know. Suddenly a bunch of the students started pointing at us, and eventually Vince and the stranger looked up from their fight. "Ava!" shouted Vince, I waved at him with a smile, then I saw Finn waving whole heartedly at the edge of the crowd, and I alighted next to him, "Hi Finn," I started, as Ecanus landed behind me silently, seeming oddly unsettled. 

"Ava! what are you doing here with.." he trailed off, looking at the muscular and strict looking Ecanus towering over me, "a.. friend?" he paled.

I looked back to see Ecanus's face nuetral and unsure, but still he looked pretty big compared to the other guys, so I understood their uncertainty. 

I bumped into Ecanus's arm, "Lighten up!" I wispered,

"Yeah Oh'kay" Ecanus muttered, uncrossing his arms, then taking a small breath he smiled and introduced himself, "I'm Ecanus."

"N-nice to meet you, I'm Finn" Finn stuttered, 

"Can you tell me whats happening here?" an animated tiger came over, clearly their teacher, 

"Sorry!" i started, realising we had still interrupted a lesson,"We came to observe the lesson." I said with a smile, 

The tiger looked me over carefully, then said, "Would you prefer to participate?" 

"You what..?" I said dumbly, 

"Fight?" she repeated, "I could get you both in a match each, but I'd like you to fight." She gestured to me, 

"Why me?" I said dumbly again, 

"'Cause these guys might fight with a bit more..enthusiasm if a girl beat them." She finished with a sly smile. 

"Hmm.. Tempting.." I said just as slyly. 

All the guys around us laughed, then another boy spoke up, "C'mon Tigress, we don't want to hurt a girl!" he smiled, 

"What are the rules?" I said looking proudly at Tigress, all the boys gasped, while Ecanus broke into laughter, 

She smiled even wider and revealed some very sharp teeth, "First round, Physical Combat. Second round, Magic only. Third round, Freestyle." 

"I'm in." I said definetly. The boys chuckled to themselves, although some seemed a bit more unsure.

I stepped towards the stone stage, flying up to the stage with a flap, then alighting on the edge gracefully. I remembered some of the spells that Zagzagel had taken extra time to drill into me, I'd also practiced some mental spells lately so I was confident for round two. As for round one, I summoned my double blades, and as they fell from out of the blue, I split them making all the boys gasp. Both Vince and whoever he'd been against jumped off the stage, Ecanus was nearly in a fit of laughter.  

"Anyone game?" I smirked, 

"C'mon guys." I heard a cocky voice, "You can't expect a girl to be able to fight just because she has some shiny blades." Then the boy stepped up onto the stage.
