"iris, catch me-" lilo screamed, falling down on her knees. "i was eating a hotdog!" she exclaimed, using her right hand to hold up lilo. "well, you're a slow eater." she rolled her eyes, finishing up her food.
they sat down on the edge of the curb, waiting for something to happen. the two stared off, admiring the sunset. it pained lilo so say it and to be honest, she didn't know if it was a lie or if it was the truth.
"you guys are cute, i'm sorry i got in between. i truly mean it, i didn't know what i was thinking." lilo said, the last part truthfully. she was over coming out, except the one thing that worried her was the feeling that iris was straight. she would've never had a chance, to lilo it felt like iris did love her, just not the way lilo did to iris.
she hated the fact that to kenny, it seemed like a race and iris was just an object like a trophy. she wanted to protect her but lilo didn't know the difference between friend protection or just plain jealously.
"geez, lilo. you're so gloomy now. is something wrong?"
lilo didn't answer until iris sighed. "no, everything's right, right now." she said, turning away as her eyes watered. she genuinely smiled, being grateful she knew someone as amazing as iris.
