Luke told me everything. Its a surprisingly short story for taking up two days time. I don't understand where he is coming from but I understand that he has had it rough and he really just needs a friend. Nothing more. "Do you want to go home ever?" "I have to, there is nowhere else to go..." "Is you mom alive?" "Ya but she doesn't want anything to do with me." "oh..any other realities?" "no. not that I know of." Man this kid is really on his own this an awful dad. He looks down, I don't know how to respond, but he jumps into the silence first. "Would you drive me home?" I am taken back by his request. "Why do you want to go back? You can stay here for a while longer.." He shakes his head fast, "No the longer I am gone the worse it will be, the longer I am gone the happier he will be and the more disappointed he will be to see me. And besides I don't want to intrude any more that I have. Thank you though." He looks down as his feet. "ok, but you really aren't intruding, and you are welcome any time. You have my number." He looks confused, "I do?" I smile back at him, "ya I called your cell after you didn't show up to second period yesterday." He looks shocked that I actually noticed he was gone. I stand up and he follows me out the door, as much as I don't want to send him back to that house I don't want to make him feel uncomfortable, so I drive him home, if you can even call that a home. I decide I'll drop him off and make sure everything is okay before I leave him to fend on his own.

Well its been half a week. That twat is probably gone for good. I look at the clock, its blurry but I can make it out. 17:05, its still early. I am already coming down but high enough to stare at the clock till it reads 17:34 when I hear car tires stop out side. I turn, almost falling over but catching myself on the wall. I stumble to the window. I see Luke, I rub my eyes, God Dammit it is actually Luke getting out of some guy's car. I throw the door open, "LUKE! Where have you been!" He turns around, says nothing and with is eyes on his feet walks towards me. When he is close enough I grab his collar are throw him up against the outside of the house. I get in his face, "I haven't seen you for almost three days, NOW you decide to come back?" He hasn't even looked up yet. There is a gash on his forehead. I grab it and make him look up, he yells in pain, "where you'd get this? hu? you been fighten?" He stutters, "no, no, i, i.. fell." I laugh in his face, "oh sure, you expect me to believe that?" I then hear a car door slam, the guy who drove him here is now walking towards me, I let go of Luke and he slides down the side of the house, leaving a streak of blood, he will have to clean that up. "Listen buddy you better get out of here this is none of your concern. I am ready for a fight, but instead he simply pushes past me and grabs Luke's limp body and walks away. I stomp after him. "Hey! HEY! Where do you think your going?" He doesn't answer but lays Luke down in the back of his car and drives away.
Who does he think he is, that boy is mine and I can do whatever I want to do with him and nobody can tell my otherwise.
