My Unstable Mate

Chapter 2

The whole time at school, I could not stop thinking about the new kid, Jasper, that was also known as my human mate. I know it is weird to think about someone you just met, but he is my mate and the mate bond is too strong to ignore. 

After our encounter in the hallway, he just thanked me again and walk off before I could stop him. I have not seen him the rest of the day, and it is making me worry. It is hard enough to not be close to him without trying to kiss his- 

"Ari! Where did you go during lunch? I keep asking you, but you never reply. You just go to dreamland. What gives?!" My best friend Jazz said interrupting my thoughts. 

"Oh, sorry Jazz. I just- I do not know what to do." I said with my hands on the table. We are currently in my house at the kitchen table.

"Ok, just tell me the deets and I will give you some advice." Jazz said getting an apple and biting into it.

I sighed and told her what happened during lunch. After my blabbering, I looked up at Jasmine with her mouth ajar and eyes wide.

"Let me get this straight," Jasmine stopped to take a breath before continuing, "you found your mate being bullied by some jerks. You fought off the jerks, you make contact with him, he thanked you and ran off. The biggest thing about this, is that he is HUMAN!" Jasmine said with her eyes still wide.

I just nodded and Jazz ran her hands through her long brown hair. "Wow, that is a lot. Um, I do not know what to say-"

"I knew it! I am DOOMED! I might as well live alone with cats! Oh, wait! I am a werewolf. I will just buy some stuffed cats and live alone with my lonely self." I said with my head down.

"Calm your tits! You did not let me finish!" Jazz just pinched her nose before looking at me again. "All you can do is be careful with him since he is human. Do not jump his bones, yet. Take it slow like how the humans do these days." Jasmine said with a smile on her face.

I nodded before I said, "you are right. I will take it slow and I will be very patient with him." I said with my finger in the air and confidence rolling off me in waves.

"This is taking tooooo long!! I will not be able to make it! Just kill me now!!" I said pulling on Jazz arm and hiding my face in her shirt.

"It has only been an hour of school and every time I try to stop him to talk, he just says he is busy and runs off. This is harder then it looks. I should just give up while I can." I said with a defeated look on my face

"Aw Ari, it ok. Just be a little patient. Look here he comes now." Ramona said looking behind me.

I turned around so fast, I almost had whiplash. I saw him carrying books to his locker. I looked to Ramona and Jasmine and saw them trying to shoo me away. I nodded and walked over to his locker.

"H-Hi Jasper," I said fidgeting after I felt his eyes on me. I looked up at him and I was pulled into his beautiful blue eyes. I have to say something or I will seem weird.

"U-Um Jasper, d-do you want to eat with m-me during lunch?" I said nervously.

"I-I am busy during lunch," Jasper said looking away.

"How come you always say no? Did I do something to you? All I did was save you from those bullies." I said with sad eyes.

"I am sorry, but I cannot go with you. Not now, or ever. P-Please do not follow me." After that Jasper walked off.

The rejection from my mate hurt me like someone just stabbed me over an over with no mercy. I covered up the pain and was emotionless the rest of the day. I could feel my wolf whimpering for her mate that rejected us, without knowing.

When the bell rang to go home, I was about to walk home until I smelled my mate still at school. My nosy side wanted me to find out what is going on.

So, I used my mate scent and followed it to a weird looking door on the other side if the school. Everyone went home and I thought this was weird.

I walked up to the door to put my ear up to it.

"You dumb nerd. We told you to stay away from her or else we will hurt both of you." One guy said.

"N-No. You c-cannot hurt her. S-She did not mean to hurt you guys." I recognized that voice as my mate.

"Too late. Spike go and get the girl. Hans, you help me with him." Before I could stop myself I let out a gasp.

I slowly got up and tried to tip-toe away, but a hand on my shoulder stopped me.

I stopped when I heard a guys voice. "No need Dante. Found her outside the door." The guy said bringing me inside the classroom by my arm.

"Good Spike. Hans, keep him over there while I 'talk' to miss snoopy here." I shivered in disgust when 'Dante' looked at me smirking. That's to bad, he had a nice name for his bad personality.

"P-Please. D-Do not touch her. Hurt me instead. S-She is just an innocent girl." Jasper said struggling. My heart started to flutter when I think about my mate wanting to protect me.

"Shut him up." Before I knew it, Hans punched Jasper in the stomach. I felt anger from both my wolf and my anger starts combining into one, and the outcome of that happening is bad. 

'HE PUNCHED MATE! KILL HIM!' Ariella said growling. I growled in anger causing Hans, Dante, Spike, and Jasper to look at me with surprise written on their faces.

Dante just started smirking at me. That was until I smelt something else in the air.
