I'm Safer With You -newtmas

Chapter 4

Thomas's Pov:

I'm suddenly awoken to Minho saying "Morning lovebirds" very loudly. Newt wakes up too and Minho stares at our hands with a questioning look and me and Newt pull away and we both get up. We held the hands the entire night.

"Why'd you wake us up." Newt asks.
"We need some extra hands to help building new houses." Minho replies. Newt just yawns and I sigh. We both get up and get outside. First we get a bite to eat and go towards the houses and grab some tools and start helping.

Me and Newt and Minho both work on one house all together. The goal is to at least have 20 houses built and everyone will be put into groups to sleep in each one.

After hours and hours of working. We all settle down to take a break. Out of nowhere Minho just suddenly says "You know what I've wanted to do ever since we got here?" Before we can even ask what Minho just takes off his shirt and runs into the ocean. Me and Newt just laugh.

"Come on you two it's amazing out here!" Minho yells from the water. At first I hesitate but I think to myself maybe it's time I had a little fun so I take off my shirt and just run in as well and start floating on the water. It felt amazing.

Newt was the last one to come in. As he was taking off his shirt I found myself starring.
"Ooooooooo look who's starring." Minho teases. "Shut up Minho." I say. "You have feelings for him don't you?" Minho says as Newt runs into the water. "No I don't..." I say as Minho just dives under water. Leaving me in an awkward silence as Newt approaches.

Newt suddenly just starts splashing me and I splash him back laughing. Eventually Minho joins in and we all just have a splash fight. We laugh and continue splashing for a while acting like little kids and enjoying ourselves. 

I don't remember having this much fun in ages.   It felt great. Eventually we stop and just tiredly sit down where the water is up to our necks. Me and Newt look at each other. Minho smirks and mumbles "Oooo lovebirds." "Shut up Minho." Me and Newt say at the same time and splash him some more annoyed while laughing.

We all end up trying to learn how to swim correctly and all just end up dying from laughter at our failed attempts. Minho just ends up flapping his arms trying to stay up and I just end up falling underwater several times. And Newt kicked the water very hard. We all just couldn't stop laughing.

Once night time falls we all get out of the water after a day of being in the water. It felt good to have some fun. We all dry up by the fire and put on some clean clothes. "That was really fun." Minho says. "Yes it really was." I reply. And Newt nods in agreement.

After a while, Minho goes to bed which leaves just me and Newt sitting by the fire.
"So about last night..." I say awkwardly and Newt looks at me. "Yeah." He says. "We held hands all night, does that change anything between us?" I say. Newt stares off into the distance. "I don't know." He replies.

Newt's Pov:

"I don't know." I reply to Thomas. We sit by the fire in silence. Ever since he came into the Maze, someone just clicked and I don't know what it was but ever since then we got closer and closer and I started to get feelings towards him. But with all the running and saving we do I never had time to really do anything about it.

But maybe now that we're safe now is a good
time? My thoughts just confuse me and out of nowhere I just say "Tommy?" "Yeah Newt?" He replies while turning to face me and without even thinking what I'm doing I lean in and kiss him on the lips. I then quickly pull back. "Tommy I'm so sor...." before I can finish Thomas kisses me back.

It felt, amazing. Our lips moving so in sync. I never wanted it to end but at some point we both pulled away for air. We both look at each other. "You feel about me the same way?" I say. What a stupid thing to say after a kiss I think to myself. "Yeah." Thomas laughs. "For a long time actually." He says. "Yeah me too." I say while smiling.

"So are we like a, uh, thing now?." Thomas says. "If you want to." I say. "Yeah I'd like that."
he replies. We laugh at each other awkwardly. And we just kiss each other again. Once again it felt amazing. After we smile at each other.

I've never felt more happy in my life. I finally know how I feel and I can be with Tommy.

•Time Skip•

I'm woken up the next morning to people running around screaming and guns being shot. I jump out of bed to see that hundreds of people have attacked us with guns and everyone in our camp was shooting towards them. Who are these people?!

Then I freeze when I realize I have no idea where Thomas is. I look around for him and he's nowhere to be seen I look inside the house and he isn't there either. It's completely empty. I look everywhere.

"Thomas?!" "THOMAS?!" I yell. I hear screams everywhere. I panic and start breathing fast. I see Minho shooting, so I know he's okay but I hope he doesn't get hurt. But where is Thomas?!

A/N: Sorry for the cliffhanger I will update very soon :) (also I just realized every chapter so far started out as Thomas waking up so I'm gonna try to change that haha) Thanks for reading!
