I opened my eyes, blinking in the suddenness of light. I could hear birds cheeping in nearby trees. The sky above my tired eyes was storybook blue, picture perfect. The clouds were fluffy white, drifting happily along. I could feel the dewy grass against my arms, legs and back; I could smell it strong and fresh in my nostrils. I sat up, whole body aching. This place was a world away from the dirty, blurred towns and streets that filled my memories.
Rising creakily to my feet, I peered all around me. Behind me, there was a vast expanse of perfectly green grass. In front of me, there was a forest of dense trees, tightly packed together, rustling gently in the breeze. Without a thought, I stepped into the forest.
