Daryl's POV:

'Ash, Before we leave I have to tell you something. I--' I look to Ash but find that she's not there. What? The fuck? Where the hell did she go? She no longer by my side now.

'Ash? Ashley!!' I call out for her but I get no reply in return. The situation is so severe that I have to call her by her full name.

But before I could call out for her...

'Floor 2' She says. 'The Maze.'

The game is about to start and already I can feel the blood pulsating in my veins and my heart hammering in my chest.

'The path is never a straight line. Let the Games begin.'

' More like let's open the door for death.

A giant 3 minute glows red on a small screen and the countdown soon begins.

Without a second's thought, I start running and running, blindly looking for the center. Turning left, sprinting right, going everywhere but ending up nowhere.

'Ash? Ashley?' I call out. My calls soon becoming forgotten echoes in this endless maze.

'Ash?' I smack the branches of leaves out of my way every time I take a turn.

It's not long when I start to feel the muscles in my leg throbbing from the torture. And once again, the familiar feeling of my lungs bawling for oxygen. My throat turning dry and parched.

'Ashley?! Ashley?!?!' I make a right and suddenly, I am faced to a dead end. A dead end...

I am about to turn back to the way I came when suddenly a dark figure emerges from the bushes of the dead end. A pale white figure. Figures. With the sides of its face looking as if they are being wrenched back, black, ash smothered teeth that could pass as claws and long pointy fingernails that glint like daggers, blood elegantly cascading from their flesh throttled mouths.

Several more of them emerge, and their blazing purple eyes all fixed on my, their mouths drooling when their sight lands on me. Their faces looking more ravenous with each second that passes by. Their eyes looking more hungry, burning with a blueish tint with each minute that passes by. Hungry, for me..

Suddenly, one of them lunges at me, letting out an inhumane cry from its...mouth? Instantly, I turn around and I start to run and run and run before I can even get to scream. Forgetting about my lungs, stinging from the lack of air, forgetting about my sore dry throat, screaming for some water. I still feel the muscles in my leg pulsing in pain.

While I run blindly, trying to get as much distance as possible, I look behind me and see the creatures gaining up on me. The vampire-like creatures run on all their falls, their mouths drooling for the appetizing relish of my flesh, eager to let my blood run down their throats, desperate for the crunching of my bones in their fangs. One of them screams in the distance, the sound oscillating in my ears as I let out a small cry.

'DARYL! DARYL? WHERE ARE YOU?' Then I hear the voice that I have been yearning to hear. Ash's voice.

'Ashley?! Ash? I'm here! ASHLEY!'

I am so relieved to hear her voice.

'ASH! I'M HERE! ASHLE--' Suddenly, I stupidly trip over a fucking branch and I slide along the the cold hard ground.

'FUCK!' I cry out as I hear their deafening shrieks nearing closer.   pick myself up and I am about to run when I realize that I have hit another dead end. FOR FUCK'S SAKE!!

The giant strides come running, closer and closer. I am about to dash back the way I came from before they could reach me when I suddenly see something appearing from the ground.
