Keith grinned at the screen before him, his hair a floppy mess after recently waking up. For the first night in years he had fallen asleep peacefully with no medication needed, sending him into a frizzy to inform Lance of the good news as soon as possible.

The computer dinged and the Cuban boy's pretty face soon came into view, blue eyes shining like sapphires. He grumbled in a morning tone deeper than his usual voice, fingers threading through his naturally-perfect hair.

Keith had memorized the dinosaur boy's tone, able to imagine his voice articulating any sentence. Even his smile was unforgettable; an array of polished teeth positioned perfectly behind soft pink lips.

"Puff, it's 6am," Lance groaned, though a smile rested upon his features. Keith pushed a stray hair out of his vision and giggles, "So?"

Lance shook his head playfully and rolled onto his stomach, only a fuzzy brown blanket covering his bare chest. "Why'd you call me this early?" He questioned with a yawn.

Keith snorted in sympathy. "It's only 6am, you doofus." The comment caused the brunette to whip around, eyes searching for a nearby clock, finding one hanging on the wall behind him.

Lance's eyes held panic. "What day is it?" He asked frantically, somewhat scaring the boy opposite his screen.

"S-Sunday?" Keith stated, eyes filled with worry and curiosity. Lance sighed and smacked a tattered pillow on his head repeatedly.

"We have school tomorrow," He whined, eyes filled with dread and a glimpse of sarcasm. Keith quirked an eyebrow at the sudden outburst of immaturity, but soon burst into a fit of laughter, his chapped lips slightly aching from smiling so often.

"No shit, we do," he replied nonchalantly while the other boy simply rolled his beautiful ocean irises. Keith thought the action resembled a wave lapping upon the sanded shore.

Lance put his head in his hands with a sigh, curling his thin hair between his fingertips. "I don't want to go to math class," he paused but quickly continued after seeing Keith's sad expression.

"Your tutoring helped but I still suck." he exclaimed with a sigh.

Keith frowned, a sense of guilt washing over him, though it was fortunately replaced with an elaborate idea.

Lance could visibly see the emotions change on Keith's countenance, stars shifting and comets shooting within his ticking mind. There was a moment of silence between the two, each staring at each other through their two dimensional devices.

"What if I help tutor you in real life?" Keith whispered, as if he was scared of his own words. A warm grin spread across Lance's face like the sea's tide, rising and instantly providing Keith with an unfamiliar aura of comfort; foreign, yet so vivid.

He knew he chose his words right.

"That would be amazing!" Lance uttered out, shocked. "I'll get to hug you!" he added after a moment.

Those words left Keith stranded in a tidal wave of unfamiliar emotion. He couldn't pinpoint what exactly he was feeling, but a giddy sensation kept rising in his chest and bubbling throughout his body.

Someone was happy to see him.
Someone cared about him.
Someone wanted to embrace him, hold him, protect him with their arms.

Their conversation led on for hours, Lance forgot how tired he was and Keith couldn't remember why he'd called the boy in the first place. It didn't matter anyway, both engulfed in a ridiculously intense discussion about eggs, and simply enjoying one another's company.

It was all he needed - someone to care.
Maybe, just maybe, a boy who favored dinosaurs and had a strange resemblance for the sea would be that someone.
